Absolutely love that news. I was going to get the US DVD collection at one point, but got a UK one in the end instead. It's a nice set, but if Halloween/Friday/Nightmare/Hellraiser/Evil Dead get decent releases I'll snap them right up. Probably a few other franchises I haven't seen or dont' enjoy as much too, like Puppetmaster, Child's Play or Children of the Corn. I'm waiting for a Hellraiser and Evil Dead box set before I start buying.

Im not so sure about it either as I only really like parts 1, 2, 3 and New Nightmare.
So not sure if its worth upgrading my boxset unless it was some uber cool packaging which I doubt it will be
I might just upgrade parts 1 - 3

I know, isn't it great news?! I hope I receive a review copy as an advanced look will be extremely welcome.

I pre-ordered it tonight from Amazon along with Quatermass and the Pit.

I'd be very interested to read your review if you do get a copy, Nos.

I'd quite like BDs of the first one and New Nightmare, I must admit.

It is one of my all-time favourite movies, so prepare for glowing praise of the film and hopefully of the disc!

Barbet Schroeder's More is getting a release in September, courtesy of the fine folks at BFI. For those who haven't seen it, it's a very dark tale of heroin addiction starring the spunky Mimsy Farmer (Autopsy, Four Flies on Grey Velvet). It has a cracking Pink Floyd soundtrack too.

Sounds interesting. It'll either be a rental or a blind buy. I'm not sure why, but I love the name Mimsy Farmer -- it's probably because it sounds completely invented, like the various methods of coming up with your porn star name!

A very interesting post over at Highdefdigest about the UK Conan The Barbarian BD.

"A guy in Holland posted on another site that the run time is 130:31, but if you select the English language menu from the disc start up it's 21 seconds shorter. So apparently Fox did one uncut disc for the UK/Benelux markets, but if you select English menus it assumes you're in the UK and skips over the horse falls to comply with UK censorship for animal cruelty. I'm going to go with French when my UK copy arrives, I'm not fluent but can read it well enough. (when you select the menu language it only affects what language the menus are displayed in, you can still select the English DTS MA audio with no subs)"
