To pinch Baseball Fury's idea, I shall review my last few films using only 5 words, all of which are films I've seen before many times The Good, The Bad and The Ugly-Amazing film, best score ever! The Magnicent Seven-Not the masterpiece people claim Jaws-Best shark film ever made

Never said it isn't a great film, I just don't think it's as good as people claim, never have done. Great cast though, but I'm more of a fan of the Italian rip offs myself

Season of the Witch (2011) I've had this film knocking around for over a year now and the largely negative response to it put me off watching until now. I don't really get the hostility towards the film. Set in the 14th century it follows the path of two Knights transporting an accused witch to a remote abbey to stand trial. Starring Nicolas Cage and Ron Perlman, the film is a lively action / horror affair, fast paced, action packed and boasting some fine set pieces, fortunately, until the final scenes the film isn't blatantly CGI heavy either. The film is well acted and has a superior British guest cast, Christopher Lee, Stephen Graham, Claire Foy and the excellent Robert Sheehan fresh from his stint on the brilliant Misfits. The film looks the part, the photography is lovely to look at, its Budapest and Salzburg settings suit legends of ancient witchcraft and plague. The movie's tone is always serious, yet was a whole lot more fun than the simillar Black Death. Last edited by Demdike@Cult Labs; 2nd February 2013 at 04:06 PM. |
