"Getting older"? I'm not even 26 yet!

Irreversible IS, without a doubt, the most violent film I've ever seen! I'm also not great with "torture films" like Saw 3 and Hostel 2. Anything else with violence/blood/guts etc. I don't really have a problem with. Maybe it's time to see a Psychiatrist!

That's pretty much how I remembered it.

I quite like Unhinged.

It has a lovely American Gothic feel to it.

Arrow double bill!

Fall Of The House Of Usher
The Corman / Poe adaptations are ideal for Blu ray and this Arrow edition looks absolutely amazing. Here's to more in the series - I'd like to see The Premature Burial and The Haunted Palace.

Deranged
Love this movie! This Blu ray edition blows all other releases out of the water. Not only is it fully uncut ( complete with brain scooping ) but this low budget gem has no right to look as good as this! Fantastic release.

INSIDIOUS 2.

QUESTION: DID YOU LIKE INSIDIOUS?

If the answer is A:Why sure I liked it! Then its well worth checking out. Not going to say much on account of spoilers but I liked where it took the story. Thought the first ten minutes were a little ropey perhaps.

If the answer is B:Hell no, get out of here with this stinking popcorn scented crap! then avoid INSIDIOUS 2 as you will probably hate it more.

Really good film! I watched this two days ago. I have a VERY high tolerance for violence in films. I can watch decapitations, disembowelments, blood & guts everywhere and none of it really bothers me. The violence in this film made cover my eyes and shudder! Very good, though . (Copied directly from my FB )

Again on the subject of film violence (what the fu k is happening to me? When did I become such a pussy?) I've recently watched The Bourne Identity for the first time, which is very good! Quite violent for a 12A cert.
What is the name of this "really good film" then?

Rewatches with mate....Seven Women For Satan/Blue Rita/Dark Night Of The Scarecrow. All of which he enjoyed.

Amer. What is this SHIT? An enjoyable opening, first 25 minutes I was getting very excited, then it.....................just went flat imo. May rewatch at weekend but so far Berberian SS a far superior experience.

I've watched a few from the Mill Creek American Horror Stories set.

The Driller Killer (1979)

Reno Miller is a starving artist who is struggling with everything in his life, including the nightly urge to bury his power drill deep inside the local homeless residents.

A couple of drill slayings is as good as this film gets. It really is quite forgettable. The film seems to be full of endless shots of a group playing in a club. The acting is fairly average at best. Try Combat Shock for a better view of New York's underbelly.

Drive-In Massacre (1974)

A restless crowd and a cheesy double feature lead to two brutal killings at a drive-in. Detective Koch and O'Leary assemble a mixed cast of suspects in order to root out the killer.

Drive-In Massacre was slightly better. It had a few kills in the drive-in parking lot which were very bloody and a whole lot of fun. Unfortunately the two detectives investigations were exceedingly dull, often just talking heads in scenes which ran for ages. Worth a watch for the inventive murders though.

Silent Night, Bloody Night (1974)

Maniacs have taken over the asylum and they want bloody revenge for crimes committed in the dark and distant past in this brutal small-town tale of terror.

Terrible in every way. Poor direction, shite acting and no thrills. I couldn't wait for this to finish. If you want to see a film where lunatics escape, try Alone in the Dark which is brilliant, this is not.

Bloody Pit of Horror (1965)

Seeking a Gothic background for a horror photo shoot, five cover girls break into what they assume is an uninhabited castle. However, they’re not alone for residing in the castle is the reincarnation of a 17th Century Crimson Executioner.

This is more like it. Sixties schlock starring Jayne Mansfield's hubby Mickey Hargitay as the Crimson Executioner. The opening forty minutes is a typical tale of folks wandering around a Gothic castle and in this case taking photos. It does begin to meander but as soon as Hargitay appears in his red hood things buck up no end. Girls are tortured and much of the crimson stuff is spilt onto the executioners dungeon floor. We get whippings, a rack and general murder. Being the mid sixties its not as sleazy as similar seventies films but is just as much fun. The fake giant spider web scenes are a hoot as our intrepid hero attempts to rescue a model from a sticky end.

Picture wise. Bloody Pit of Horror was good with nice strong colours, Drive-In Massacre wasn't as good but still watchable. The Driller Killer was fairly poor in places and Silent Night Bloody Night was as shite as its contents.
