Back on topic, I'm currently watching Pacific Rim with Guillermo Del Toro's commentary which, typically, is full of information and his love for films, filmmaking and people shines through. Of all the people who make commentaries, Del Toro is probably my favourite.

It'll be good to see his contribution on Phantom of the Paradise. I liked his commentary on Vampyr.

That was a brilliant commentary track and, as far as I'm concerned, gives the BFI release the edge over the Criterion BD.

Agreed - He's a big draw, whoever gets him. If SF is smart, they'll try to license some special features from Arrow.

On Vampyr, he really outdid Tony Rayns on that one though - Rayns is usually a very good commentator particularly on the MoC Mizoguchis and Imamuras. On this, he was good but Guillermo was heaps better.

Also really loved his commentary on Pan's Labyrinth.

I think Ridley Scott also makes a very good commentator for a director. Can't wait to see both cuts of The Counselor.
