Faster Pussycat Kill! Kill! - More Russ Meyer bosomania!

Obchod na korze - (The Shop on Main street) Winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Picture (1965)

The Greatest Story Ever Told - A biblical epic from George Stevens with just about everyone from Hollywood in it including John Wayne as the Roman Centurion who would utter the now infamous line "Truly this maaan was the sarn of Gawd!" This was also Claude Rains last film. Although its a bit more 'realistic' the earlier 'King of Kings' is a better movie.

For a Few Dollars More - The sequel to 'A Fistful of Dollars' and for me the better of the two, Lee Van Cleef also stars and does an equally good job as Eastwood.

Doctor Zhivago - Considered a classic but for me it was a three hour bore fest! Nice music, nice cinematography but ultimatley dull.

The Defilers - A somewhat unpleasant film thats the opposite of a 'nudie-cutie', this R. Lee Frost film has plenty of nudity but also features kidnap, rape and beatings and spankings.

The War Lord - Turgid historical affair featuring Charlton Heston in a bowl haircut as a norman lord who decides to enact a case of 'primae noctis' and then decides to keep the girl thus causing his vassals to mutiny.

Carry on Cowboy - Number 11 in the franchise, not too bad. Charles Hawtrey's line when his indian braves are getting killed off during an attack had me laughing "Umpa, stickitty jumpa...Bloody quick!"

Life at the Top - The first sequal to 1959's BAFTA winning 'Room at the Top'. It went on to spawn a TV series that lasted 23 episodes (two seasons) before the story of Joe Lampton's rise from his working class roots came to an end with a second sequal.

Major Dundee - Another Charlton Heston picture, this time a western from Sam Peckinpah.

And now I begin 1966. The year with the most movies in my list (30) including a massive 8 hour () Russian subtitled version of War and Peace!

I like Lee Frost, he is one of the unsung heroes of scum cinema!

THE ESCAPEES
Two women escape from a psychiactric institution and embark on a journey of self discovery, through encounters with various groups and individuals.
This was a bit of a departure from the vampire tales of Jean Rollin and by all accounts was a troubled production. Although not one of his best, it has its ( few ) moments. A really nice looking blu ray from Redemption.

THE STRANGE CASE OF DR JEKYLL AND MISS OSBOURNE
A film that is extremely hard to catagorise - is it horror or arthouse? Probably a mix of the two, with superb camerawork and bizarre set pieces. Arrow's blu ray is a stunning presentation of a film which may not be for all tastes, but is an experience you won't forget in a hurry.

Baba Yaga (1973) Don't know what to make of this really as I found my mind wandering whilst watching it. The actresses are all very nice to look at and there's plenty of nudity to stop your mind wandering off completely but ultimately its a story that's been done before. Although the doll in the S&M gear was a WTF moment!

Saw The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen last night. Never seen it before, but had gotten curious seen as it was Sean Connery's last film before he retired. Having seen it, I can understand why he quit! To be fair, it starts off intriguingly enough with a fun premise, nice atmosphere and Connery on his usual great form (I do miss him), but it goes rapidly downhill after 30-40 minutes or so and in the last hour practically even he struggles to make an impact under a deluge of endless eye-glazing overblown CGI-laden "modern" Hollywood blockbuster crap. Connery deserved a better last film than this mess.

Had the pleasure of watching the bird with the crystal plumage for the first time, and I quite enjoyed it. I prefer it over Cat O nine tails and look forward to watching Four Flies on Grey Velvet, in order to complete Argentos Animal trilogy.

Whats your favorite of the trilogy?

In order, probably Bird, Cat and then Flies. However, the last two tend to swap places every so often.
