Well refer back to the first quote then.

It's just a film full of dark pessimism which director Mark Robson and producer Val Lewton bring to the screen in a delightful complex noirish film of dread with a shadow of impending death hanging over it.

I'm concerned now that you'll hate The Night Has Eyes.

I really liked 7th victim too, Leopard man is my least favourite, but then i've never seen Ghost ship.
Even Leopard geezer has a great scene with the blood under the door.
Have you seen Curse of the cat people anyone, pretty random sequel but i really liked it at the time.

Yes i enjoyed that one. My favourite Lewton so far is still the original Cat People. Closely followed by The Body Snatcher and Isle of the Dead.

Ghost Ship isn't the greatest really but i prefer it to The Leopard Man. Ghost Ship is more about the captain's descent into madness rather than an actual ghostly ship.

In context i think all Lewton's films were better than what Universal were producing at the same period of 1942-46.

My kinda review - it cuts thru the waffle, and tells me exactly what the reviewer thought about the film!
