Apparently the popular kids at school had feelings too......a film I grew to hate, much like The Spectacular Now cough. Both based on novels. May put me off reading haha.
I hated it, the book is far better, don't be put off John Green writes good books.

Noted then.

California Scheming (Marco Weber, 2014)
Chloe likes games.
Head games, that is.
Another film I grew impatient with ahem. But by gum she is pretty (Gia Mantegna, Joe's little girl ahem). Meh.

Enchanted (2007)

Disney live action film that riffs on nearly all their classic cartoons. Incorporating a beautiful princess, a dashing prince, a wicked queen, a chipmunk, twee yet immensely catchy songs and a feel good sugary vibe that should turn most stomachs.

Beginning as animation it tells the story of Gisella, a beautiful girl about to marry her prince charming until his wicked step mother ruins it all and throws Gisella down a magical well where she ends up in modern day New York City. Naturally the prince soon follows on as does the wicked queen and her minion (Timothy Spall). Fortunately for Gisella she meets a kind divorce lawyer and his daughter and things get a little romantically confused from there on.

Que lots of singing, dancing, and sweet animals that clean apartments out. It all sounds immensely sickly but it's clearly made with a love for the classics even though there's a wicked hint of mockery throughout and the nagging feeling that this is actually better than the majority of films that influence it. Enchanted is a film that shouldn't work, but it does, and it's brilliant.

Recommended.

You should slap a warning label on that: 'bizarre_eye Exempt' or something similar.

The Cremators (1972)

The Cremators is a bonus feature film on the Image 40th Anniversary dvd of Octaman as it's from the same director, Harry Essex.

Playing out like an even lower budget version of Night of the Big Heat (1967), The Cremators is truly dreadful. So much so that i've never been able to sit through it all. Yup! Both times i've attempted to watch this film i've had to turn it off. I never turn off films, no matter how poor they are, so The Cremators really must be something truly shite.

Octaman on the other hand is brilliant. I recommend you all pick up the Anniversary Edition...if you can afford it.

You've got some wicked reverse psychology going for you tonight Dem, because I don't really feel inclined to check out your recommendation Enchanted but am now finding myself wanting to check out The Cremators.

I'm an "Enchanted" fan too, my daughter and I own a joint copy as we both like it so much.
MTDS likes it as well you know!

Has it got Gemma Arterton in it? If not it's probably because of the witch.

Only the meanest and most jaded of souls could fail to enjoy Enchanted.

Yeah, go on then, you're exempt.
