The Shiver of the Vampires (1971)

A young, badly acting couple stay the night at an old castle. They soon discover that it's home to a coven of vampires.

Classic surrealism from French director Jean Rollin. Largely plot less and about as exciting as reading the dictionary, yet what the film lacks in seat gripping tension it makes up for in sexy nude vampire girls, lush colour schemes, delightful Gothic sets, the obligatory beach at the end and a Ry Cooder style score.

A prime example of Rollin mood cinema.

I haven't managed to check it out yet (I'm always really behind when it comes to newer films) but it's definitely one I want to watch eventually.

Not seen it yet either. I'll probably pick it up this week. I bet it's not as good as Bone Tomahawk though...but here's hoping.

I was actually shocked at how high I rated Satan's Sadists considering it is the work of the infamous Mr. Adamason. One of his better films for sure.

Tough, uncompromising, gruelling, but an astonishing piece of filmmaking with some of the best acting I've seen this last year. It's one I'll buy but don't know whether my (admittedly large and expensive) home cinema setup will be able to do it as much justice as the (thankfully quiet) multiplex cinema experience did.
