It made £600k on a budget of £1.5m so never even came close to breaking even.

I knew it was a critical and commercial failure, but that is a complete disaster. The amount of money it failed to recoup will probably not have been made on the home cinema market as those who didn't love the trailer for the film when they saw it at the cinema will, if they're anything like me, have watched it out of morbid curiosity.

Think Goonies with the universal monsters, but better, a group of kids who are part of the " monster squad" end up taking on Dracula , the mummy , Wolfman and the creature from the black lagoon for the fate of the world with help from Frankenstein's monster. This is far better homage to the classic monster movies than the crap that are part of Universal's dark universe if the mummy is anything to go by. 8.5/10

Yes we do, the version I got is going for silly money now.

Talking of films that need a UK release still surprised no one has done a release of Nightbreed

Knock Knock

A remake of the delirious 1977 film Death Game but lacking in all that makes the original such a great underrated and under seen gem.

This new film is way too tame in every aspect where as the original film starts spinning its freaky deaky fairly early on and never gives up until it's surprise ending.

Eli Roth has never matched some of the fantastic individual scenes in Hostel II for me. There is something about his work that I can't quite put my on finger that makes his films feel fake and gives the impression of a good child desperately trying to be bad to impress the bigger kids.

Is that because Nightbreed is actually crap and everyone secretly knows it but won't say so...

No, but I watched it with my step daughters a few weeks back and they loved it
