It's well reviewed but your take on it would be good.

Lucio Fulci's The Black Cat:

Sandwiched between the superior COTLD and Beyond movies, this is a lesser Fulci entry but still quite an entertaining flick. It has one serious problem though and that is that domestic breeds of cats just aren't very scary. No matter how how you film them! My wife and I both like foreign horror productions that are filmed in the UK, we like Lucio Fulci and we like cats too so this film easily gets a pass. Score - 7/10.

Tommy Lee Wallace's Fright Night part II:

Really disappointing sequel to a much loved 80's cult classic. I'd never seen it before. Actually starts off okay, the first 30 mins or so is pretty good but the remainder is filled with poor comedy, uninspired writing and quite a few cringey moments. Whilst it's kinda nice to see more of Ragsdale and McDowall, you just wish the film wasn't so damn dodgy. The movie probably has it's fans but I'm not among them. Score - a very grudging 5/10.

Boo! I prefer FNII to the first one, personally.

Rocky IV. When his friend Appolo Creed (Carl Weathers) is killed in the ring by the vicious Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren), Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) decides to challenge the seemingly unstoppable Russian himself. I don't think I've ever actually seen a Rocky movie before, oddly enough, but this was on SBS a while back and I taped it as I've always had a vague curiosity about it due to the trailer being on the Gremlins VHS I had as a kid and having watched it loads of times... and I actually really enjoyed it. Great oldschool 80s fun.*

8/10

Points deducted for Julia's hair, shoulder pads, earings and make-up and because of the 3 people she brings back to the house, only 1 questions why they've went up stairs to this dilapidated dingy room.

Carrie.

Carrie White(Sissy Spacek) is a shy and withdrawn young girl who lives with her crazy religious fanatic mother(Piper Laurie) and gets a very hard time at school as well, with the other kids always tormenting her. but she discovers that she has special powers and can cause things to move just by thinking about it.

From a novel by Stephen King and directed by Brian DePalma, this is probably the best adaption of a Stephen King story ever put to screen and is probably my favorite DePalma film too.
Sissy Spacek is fantastic as the bullied Carrie who eventually gets revenge after constantly being humilited by the other kids and her mother. and Piper Laurie plays the disturbed bible thumping mother to perfection. other noticeable co stars include Amy Irving and John Travolta, Pj Soles from the original Halloween film, and William katt who plays Tommy Ross in the film, a chap with seriously big hair and bad taste in tuxedos.

Yes, i definately recommend this film a lot. Carrie is a classic horror film every horror fan should watch. It is well directed and builds up to a superb climax. and i award 92.5 out of 100.

A Breed Apart (1984, Phillipe Mora)

Donald Pleasence, Rutger Hauer, Powers Boothe, Kathleen Turner aaand Brion James.
Donald has a museum. Rutger has an island. Powers has some rope. Kathleen has a son. Brion can just about blow his nose. See what happens when all these folks git t'gether for a slightly exciting time involving atavism
Ok, so the Hauer overdoes the quirk, and DP is underused but twas decent enough. I always remembered the trailer making it seem weirder than it obviously was ....

Dead of Night

A man travels to a farmhouse for a job, and realises he's had a nightmare about the place and the people. As he goes through each character tells a story.

A favourite horror anthology, it still unsettles me. The dummy tale is still a creepy tale and that ending still gives me shivers now.
