I aim to get it on Blu very soon. I'm a bit annoyed that there's a Criterion release at more than double the price of the regular version.

The Sony pictures one is £6.99 and the Criterion is £25.99 so that's £19 more! you could buy 2 or 3 more films with the difference alone!

The dvd looks okay at best so any blu will be an improvement. I haven't looked in detail at the Sony blu but i presume it ports all the extras from the dvd.

Poltergeist. 2015.

A family move into a new suburban home only to be confronted by ghosts and try to rescue their daughter who was taken by them.

This is by no means better than the original but it's a lot better than the sequels and somewhat entertaining, if someone was to release the full unedited version of Poltergeist II. then I may change my mind. There are some tense and suspenseful moments that are built up but the jump scares are predictable even with Sam Rockwell freaking out over a squirrel was a laugh. Jared Harris plays the somewhat exorcist who has battled plenty of demons and does have the scars.

Seven Samurai

I am on holiday this week, so I decided to see what was on at cinemas in Edinburgh. Low and behold this classic was showing at the same place me and my mate went to see Dune. so an opportunity to see what is highly regarded by many critics as one of the greatest foreign movies ever made on the big screen shows up. OF COURSE I'M GOING TO TAKE IT.
Only thing is I forgot how long the movie is, thank **** for the intermission.

Sicario. 2015.

A F.B.I agent joins a elite team of government task force to aid the stop of drug smugglers between the U.S. and Mexico border.

This had a good cast of Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Torro, although it's not based on a true story, it does show the drug trafficking that probably has or can happen. There is some good action sequences and tense moments but for me this just dragged on at a slow pace, some bits were a bit longer than they needed to be, sorry if you like this film and i'm bashing it but maybe a second watch will help, now onto the second one.

I really like both Sicario films.

The 'drive' into Mexico is utterly gripping in the first one. More memorable than any action sequence in a million superhero films for me.

Had i not seen them both only 12 months ago they'd have been upgraded to Blu-ray already.

These were blind buys for me I got them both on a double pack from a HMV sale at £4, will leave my comments on the second one for later when I get to work..
