My Bloody Valentine. 1981.

A group of miners are are trapped in a cave in on Valentines day, Harry Warden survived and went on a killing spree. 20 years later, the town is moving on and planning a party only for the killings start to start again.

Right at the start we are giving a good killing and a loud scream and everyone planning for the big party, the local tavern guy tries to tell the story of Harry Warden in a not so sinister and creepy way, this guy will never make Jackanory. The acting may not be great and nobody has got a oscar for their performance in this but does have decent cinematography and claustrophobic atmosphere in towards the end in the mine, being chased by a miner who always stays one step ahead. Down side to this some of the kills are off screen or way to close but we do see the aftermath.

Hercules, Houdini, Holmes (2019, Joseph Watson)

Easily one of the stranger "kids film" that I've seen.
Gore, violence and villians called ... The Walker Brothers
A group of kids find they have unlocked secret powers when a new child comes to stay. Bizarre isn't the word. A girl is tied up and pushed into a pool etc.
Hallmark didn't make this one

In 1972 while logging with is friends Travis Walton is supposedly abducted by aliens is friends leave him and arrive back at town telling there story as time goes on most of the town believes they did him in, days later Travis turns up naked and terrified at the torture and abuse he suffered , was he tell the truth or was it one of the greatest hoaks of the 20th century?

Well acted and the examination scenes are quite disturbing, but why is it that the alien ship is so dirty has no one invented the hoover? Also the aliens look a bit crap and one point when he is being forced down its obviously a muscular and hairy human arm!

The first of the hairy botter films, on his 11th birthday young Harry finds out his parents are wizards and so is he, he finds he into go-to Hogwarts the greatest school a wizardry on the planet, once their he discovers he's somewhat of celebrity but there people who want too see him fail and something sinister is going on at the school and Harry is in the centre.

The 4k release looks great and a good soundtrack, while the acting of the adults is great most of the child actors are poor especially Daniel Radcliff but his acting does improve greatly as the films go on.

There's two versions of this film. Theatrical and an uncut version where violent footage was reinserted back into MBV. I suspect you were watching theatrical because of that sentence, it's well worth seeking out one of the uncut releases, that added footage really adds to the film. btw You can tell if you're seeing an uncensored version because the added footage has quite a bit of print damage (making it a bit of a Grindhouse experience).

I'm re-watching the Potter films at the moment after buying the Blu-ray box set before Christmas.

I watched The Half Blood Prince last night. As with the majority of them it's overlong and the actual half blood prince story line goes missing for about two hours of the run time.

Of the six seen so far The Goblet of Fire was easily the best. A genuinely good film which although a similar length to The Half Blood Prince actually felt far shorter.

From what i remember from the first time i watched the films Deathly Hallows Part II is also excellent.

Deadpool 2 (2018)

Perhaps surprisingly i thought this was excellent. I loved the self referential piss taking and the dialogue throughout was so funny.

Josh Brolin's Cable to Deadpool - "You're not a f*ckiin' hero. You're just an annoying clown dressed up as a sex toy"

Thankfully the action was totally grounded and believable - well as believable as superhero movies go, thankfully nobody chucking planets about or bollocks like that, so the film worked brilliantly for me as a cracking slice of superhero entertainment.

Better than the original film.

It's well worth it, the uncensored My Bloody Valentine cut is over two minutes longer. It's great that the footage still existed.

MY BLOODY VALENTINE (1981) UNRATED CUT

I think I missed out on watching this last year as all my stuff was packed away if I remember right.
I really enjoy this movie. Scream Factory's Blu ray looks great and they have done a good job restoring the quality of the cut scenes that were on the previous Lionsgate release.
I watched all the extras again as well, so made a night of it.

From memory, when I last watched them, I thought Prisoner of Azkaban was the best with Order of the Phoenix in second place.

Chamber of Secrets and Deathly Hallows Part I are the weakest.
