StudioCanal are releasing a special edition Blu-ray on April 15 with some brand-new featurettes, so I'll buy yet another copy of one of my favourite horror-comedies.

The features are:

• Commentary with writer/director Sam Raimi, actor Bruce Campbell, co-writer Scott Spiegel, and special makeup effects artist Greg Nicotero
• Swallowed souls: The Making of Evil Dead II (new!)
• Cabin Fever: a fly on the wall behind the scenes (new!)
• Road to Wadesboro: Revisiting the Shooting Location of Evil Dead II (new!)
• Archival Featurettes: Behind the screams / Making of ED2 /Theatrical Trailer
• Photo galleries

I personally didn't care for House of the Devil, but the other two are indeed excellent films.

I have a small complaint about House of the Devil this is very small but it really annoyed me last night. Last night was my first time watching the Blu Ray of it first time was on dvd. Ti West was going for a late 70s early 80s look and feel to the film which i think he pulled off really well. I loved that the grain was there on the Blu Ray but then as the Blu Ray goes on one scene is really grainy the next was clear as day. Why make so much effort to have that look and not keep it consistent through out the film. Might seem a little sad but it just really annoyed me.

Even though I don't like ROTLD, that's still one very cool triple bill

I'd not noticed the varying grain in HOTD . . .

I watched Looper (German blu-ray, which is not entirely English friendly as it has some title cards in German) for the second time. I found it better the second time round, perhaps because my expectations had not been pumped up by endless comments about how intelligent and original the film is. While it is undoubtably a solid Sci-Fi actioner, I still don't see why this ended up on so many 10 best of 2012 lists. I feel that I should be shouting "The Emperor has no clothes".
