I was unsure about it when I saw it first, but liked it much more on second viewing. Because it has three directors, the way they did the commentary is really interesting as well.

Whats the verdict on The Human Centipede and its sequel?

I have only seen the first one. I enjoyed it as much as you can enjoy a film about people getting stuck together ass to mouth

I thought the first one was actually quite good, the second one i thought was way too over the top and nowhere near as good.

(Morbid?) curiosity is what led me to watch the first Human Centipede. However, the hype that surrounded it left me nonplussed. It is predictable and dull, but it gets a few extra points for trying something a bit new. I actually prefer ('prefer' is probably the wrong word...) the sequel, as even though it is again packed with characters you care little to nothing about, and it tries constantly and unremittingly to 'out-extreme' the first one in the shocking stakes, the story-arc is actually quite different, a bit 'meta' and less formulaic than the first one. It's still not a good film by any means though. These films do have a strange draw for me though and I'll probably watch the third one eventually. |

I haven't seen the sequel yet, but I actually quite enjoyed the first one, treating it more as a black comedy than a gross-out horror film.

If you think five is stupid than maybe the next instalment is not for you.
