Easily his worst for me.

Even the presence of Kurt Russell couldn't make it more than 'average'.

Same for me, I'm just glad I only forked out a quid for the 2 disc set!

Death Proof doesn't really work as a film, it's ok as an experiment in how to film a car chase but as a narrative, there's nothing there. He also throws the whole grindhouse look out the window in the second half when we meet the new girls, rendering the idea behind the whole Grindhouse experience pointless.

The second half of the film is as much 'Grindhouse' as the first, just without the print damage

I honestly love Death Proof to pieces and think its a fantastic film (although would argue he'd already done a Grindhouse homage with Kill Bill)

that's what i meant, there's still that exploitation style in second just minus the degraded print.

i've seen death proof more than any other film ever made.
its his most creative film yet.
and it has one of the best endings of all time.
if you don't even like it than you don't sound like a tarantino fan.

I'm a fan of films rather than directors, although I am of the opinion that Tarantino has had more 'hits' than 'misses'.
Daemonia likes this.

I dunno about that last bit. Being a fan entitles you to not just blindly follow everything they do.

Good to see a fellow Tarantino fan on here though!
