I have no idea. As I said, it's not a film I'm interested in, certainly not enough to own it. I don't imagine it had much in the way of features, as it wasn't one of their Collector's Editions, and it seemed to be much cheaper than most of their other releases.

The main draw (for me) in respect to The Incredible Melting Man is the fantastically gloopy melt effects. I'd been toying with the SF release but at around a tenner delivered it seemed a little pricey for what it was so I never bothered taking the plunge... Arrow's release will be bought (in the sale ) though.

I’m all for UK releases of things not available here, or region locked elsewhere, but I expect better than that during a tent pole month for horror fans.

It sadly feels a little like sloppy, tarted up seconds as far as the Arrow Video line is concerned in October. All have been available prior, and of those I only had an interest in one, The Visitor, which I’m perfectly happy with, and don’t see myself wanting to upgrade (It appears to have a very similar feature list to the US edition, but I haven’t compared).

I am, however, 100% on board for The Naked City. It’s easily the highlight of the month from Arrow’s line up. I don’t imagine it helps that they’re only announcing one month at a time now (Thank you very much all those people complaining of delays!). Hopefully November brings more for me.
I understand where your coming from, for the Halloween month it is a fairly poor line up.

I think between the mega September, and blowing all their effort on Withnail & I, it explains why Arrow had to fall back on ports for October.

After having to delay all their titles as a result of putting too much on their plate, I think they learnt to tone it down a bit, and as a result put easy titles on October as a break and catch up.

And Withnail & I appears to be such a monumental effort that probably took a lot of their budget too.

'The Incredible Melting Man' full specs:

"Release Date: 13th October 2014
Format: Dual Format Blu-ray + DVD
Starring: Alex Rebar, Ber de Benning
Directed by: William Sachs

Synopsis: THE FIRST NEW HORROR CREATURE

Before he turned his hand to lycanthropes in An American Werewolf in London, shuffling zombies in the Thriller music video and hostile extra-terrestrials in Men in Black, special effects legend Rick Baker lent his talents to the creation of another memorable horror creature. Step forward, The Incredible Melting Man!

When spacecraft Scorpio V returns to Earth following a mission to Saturn, two of the crew are dead and the third, astronaut Steve West, is in a critical condition. Critical, that is, until he rises from his hospital bed to bite chunks out of a nurse before escaping into the surrounding countryside. The authorities set about trying to track Steve down before he claims any other victims, but they don’t know the really bad news yet - Steve is also highly radioactive!

The Incredible Melting Man offers up a wealth of show-stopping B-movie moments in its relatively modest running time – chief among them, the scene in which a disembodied head floats down a river only to smash messily on the rocks further downstream – but the real star of the show here is Baker’s ultra-icky special effects work which let you see the Melting Man’s transition in all its gooey, glistening glory.

'The Naked City' full specs:

"Release Date: 27th October 2014
Format: Dual Format Blu-ray + DVD
Starring: Barry Fitzgerald, Howard Duff, Dorothy Hart, Don Taylor, Frank Conroy, Ted De Corsia
Directed by: Jules Dassin

Synopsis: THERE ARE EIGHT MILLION STORIES IN THE NAKED CITY. THIS IS ONE OF THEM.

Jules Dassin followed up his explosive prison picture Brute Force with another slice of hard-boiled crime fiction. Within a decade he’d make Thieves’ Highway, Night and the City and Rififi, thus confirming Dassin’s position as one of the all-time-great film noir directors.

New York, the middle of summer. A blonde ex-model is murdered in her bathtub and detectives Muldoon (Barry Fitzgerald) and Halloran (Don Taylor) are assigned to the case. Their investigation will lead them through the entire city, from Park Avenue to the Lower East Side, culminating in a thrilling climax atop the Williamsburg Bridge.

Inspired by the work of the infamous tabloid photographer Weegee, The Naked City was the first major Hollywood production to be shot entirely on the streets of New York, making use of more than a hundred authentic locations. Both its editing and its cinematographer would earn Academy Awards, while the film itself would be recognised by the Library of Congress as one of American cinema’s most significant motion pictures.

Worth mentioning that currently non personalised version from Amazon is actually £5 more than the personalised one. Oh and you can't get reward points from this purchase.

Amazon pre-order prices always start off high and drop in the time before release so this isn't surprising.
