What you say is true. I found it showed a lot of promise. Setting the scene so to speak.

Some of the camera-trickery shots were straight out of 'Sherlock'!

Best companion ever its only been one epiosode ! She was OK but as said its been one episode not enough to judge, but I can't see her being in the same league as Sarah Jane etc.

A perv storm were they even watching the same show? If its true another case of so called feminists doing more harm than good

Demand 'diversity' and gay representation. Get it. Complain some more.
Rinse and repeat for any other "issue".

As an introduction to both a new series and also a new companion, I quite enjoyed it, but I think that the best is yet to come

It was like a 'Doctor Who Greatest Hits' package, with a lot of references to previous stories: 'The Waters Of Mars', 'Midnight', 'Human Nature', 'School Reunion', 'The Caretaker', 'Rose' etc from Nu-Who and 'The Chase', 'Remembrance Of The Daleks', 'Shada' etc from Classic Who and even a nod of the head to Frobisher!

I thought it was more of a character study than a full ahead romp. I also thought a lack of 'proper' monster hurt things. The inclusion of the Daleks was pointless, as was the use of the Movellans. Most fans wouldn't know who they were, similar to the use of the Macra in 'Gridlock'. It would have made more sense to have the Daleks fighting the Thals!

All-in-all, I am looking forward to the rest of the series
