Bzzz, sorry, no, fiddled ratings don't count. Sylv didn't get to add on the millions who videotaped his episodes because Coronation Street was on the other side! :

I had a mate whose family did the whole BARB thing at the time. Any time i watched something they'd recorded off tv even if i was just sat in the damn room waiting, they included me as a viewer.

That was in the 80's. It was a box about the size of a dvd case but thicker with 5 buttons on it to indicate viewers. I'm pretty sure they had to keep a log and send it off each week for all the recordings they watched.

Interestingly, Battlefield gained almost a million viewers by it's fourth episode 3.1 - 4.0m. And Survival gained another million 5, 4.8 & 5m for it's three eps.

What is more relevant is that Battlefield is very good whereas The Lie of the Land was shit!

Finally IanK i can't prove either way if recordings were taken into account so i'll leave it there.
iank and MrBarlow like this.

Sadly Sylv didn't have such luxuries.

Oh and Treb. The US ratings are awful.

I'm guessing the Americans don't like Bill so much, or the simplistic stories lacking monsters.
if thats the case, if things don't improve next season i can see it being cancelled.
