An Unearthly Child, first episode aside, i find a bit of a chore to get through. I'd have picked The Mutants (The Daleks), instead
Unless you are very lucky, you can only get 'An Unearthly Child' and 'The Daleks' in the box set 'The Beginning'*, which includes the first three stories: 'An Unearthly Child', 'The Daleks' and 'The Edge Of Destruction'. In addition, the 'EoD' disc also contains a 30 minute telesnap version of 'Marco Polo' which (until it is re-discovered) is the only way you can see this story

* However, as we have seen, places like CEX have no problem with splitting box sets, so you might be able to pick up a stand alone copy there

I picked up Earthshock from HMV and ordered Genesis of the Daleks from Amazon to be delivered tomorrow, the one in CEX was in fact a 1 disc edition and it had a different cover on it, looked more in line with the David Tennant covers.

Wish me luck! Going to watch later tonight after I've done some Uni reading

I think PYRAMIDS OF MARS is an excellent choice for a first Classic Who watch. Definitely one of Tom Baker's best stories, with great performances, a truly evil villain and a lot to appeal to the horror fan.

For the Pertwee era, I would definitely recommend SPEARHEAD FROM SPACE. All being shot on film, it still looks superb today. The Autons are creepy as hell and the whole scary aspect of the story was what got me hooked on the series - and, as a subsequence, horror movies in general.

A female doctor.
It's like normal Dr Who but with tits.
Think of it the Doctor and Missy could have a catfight.

Do time Ladies get periods, seeing as they're always travelling in time, is there ever a time of the month, i guess so otherwise were do time lords come from?
Every few stories she could get really moody with everyone and go on the rampage.

She could have a sonic vibrator.

Onwards into my Dr Who journey, watched the first two episodes of Carnival Of Monsters, thoroughly enjoying this so far, great performances all round, a touch lighter in mood up to now compared to the stories i have viewed up to now.

Man i am loving Dr Who
