Yep, thats where I got mine from (for £4.99) & it's now been despatched! :woot:

I was going to put the Amazon link up as well as the HMV one, but as you rightly said Paul, it went back up to it's regular price so no point.

I don't think HMV one was a mis-price as it was the price stated on a comparison site I use, so hopefully some of you have managed to take advantage. :)

HMV have some great online BD deals on at the minute. I'm a poor student now and so really can't afford to spend money on such things at the moment but am really tempted by Fantastic Mr Fox for a fiver.

nekromantik 7th October 2011 11:35 AM

The Woman bluray is currently £9.99 on Amazon and HMV :)
great flick

oaxaca 7th October 2011 03:13 PM

More of a surprise than a bargain... I picked up the BIG LEBOWSKI limited edition digibook instore in HMV earlier for £12!! Same price as amazon (currently the cheapest price available). Nice one huhmuhvuh!

antmumford 7th October 2011 07:41 PM

There are some good bargains to be had in HMV at the moment. The Stanley Kubrick set only £25, the Dirty Harry set I think was £30 or so. Lots of good offers right now

Don't know how long it'll last (or if it'll be honoured as it's gotta be a pricing error, maybe missing a 1 at the start) but Silent Running is on amazon at the moment for 3.99

Well, I've just placed an order at that price. Let's see what happens.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 9th October 2011 05:09 AM

That's what I came on here to tell you all...I've just placed it as well.

Someone has mixed up the DVD price with this by the looks of it!:woot:

Stephen@Cult Labs 9th October 2011 07:52 AM

My.preorder better come in at that rate!

PaulD 9th October 2011 09:37 AM

Placed my order - nice find! Hope they honour it if it's a mis-price.

I have the steelbook pre-ordered too but will keep that ordered and see what happens.

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 9th October 2011 09:39 AM

Fantastic spot -- ordered!

Baseball Fury 9th October 2011 10:22 AM

Just realised I preordered the steel, so I've ordered that one too!

I also have the steelbook pre-ordered, but this would be an added bonus if Amazon choose to honour the orders.

Slippery Jack 9th October 2011 10:39 AM

BOOM! Ordered - they'd better stick to that price - "Our Pre-order Price Guarantee covers one or more item(s) in this order. If the Amazon.co.uk price decreases between the time you place your order and the release date, you will pay the lowest price. Terms and conditions apply" ... no mention in the terms and conditions of what happens if the price increases before release . . . !

No idea. I was always under the impression that shops etc had to sell you something at the price it was advertised, even if it had been labeled wrong by mistake. Sadly, a program on the BBC showed that they don't have to. It's entirely up to them if they decide to honour it. Fingers crossed!!!!

Amazon has honoured misplacing in the past but I know Play hasn't - they'll cancel and then send out an email letting you know it's a mistake. Tsk.

Slippery Jack 9th October 2011 11:12 AM

Suppose it depends on how many spot the mistake and pounce - can't see them honoring it if a shed load get pre-ordered! My best 'mistake' purchase was when I got the Alien Quadrilogy from Woolworths on the day of release for £15  Think the RRP was something like £60  . . .

Baseball Fury 9th October 2011 12:28 PM

All it takes though is one dickhead to order 20 copies and ruin it for everyone.

Amazon sold in excess of 500 copies of The Matrix Trilogy on HDDVD at a massively cheaper, incorrect pre-order price (if I remember it was less than £25 and retailed at £75) but honoured them all.

Found this on Amazon.

They honoured my Pianist Studio Canal Collection order at £7.99 which went up to £15.99 after I think. Doesn't sound as severe but it's almost the same price difference as this.

What is strange is that they still haven't corrected it!

Refused 9th October 2011 01:36 PM

I managed to get a CD/DVD set for about £15 less than RRP which amazon honoured. Lets hope they're feeling nice this week.

oaxaca 9th October 2011 07:57 PM

Haha I see you've all noticed SILENT RUNNING steelbook for 3.99 already! Just got my pre-order in. What a scoop if it comes off !! :p

pedromonkey 9th October 2011 08:26 PM

... and it's probably the talk of Amazon HQ this morning :D

Daemonia 10th October 2011 10:27 AM

My pre-order seems to be holding its £3.99 price though. What usually happens if a retailer won't honour a price? Do they contact you or simply put the price up on your pre-order?

They'll either cancel it, or contact you to let you know. As far as I'm aware they aren't legally allowed to charge you more for the item without your consent.
