It's always sunny in Philadelphia.

Now I have netflix as well as Prime (in a bid to reduce the amount of shit I buy) I decided to get stuck into this. Glad I did. Its a show I should realistically hate. The characters are utterly obnoxious, narcissistic, in certain cases potentially psychopathic and quite probably barely functional alcoholics. So its a tribute to the great writing on the show that I find it absolutely hysterical. The premises of the episodes are beyond f***** up in places, especially faking cancer, picking up girls at abortion rally's and at one point becoming full blown crack addicts in order to claim welfare.

oh I am. Finding myself laughing out loud which is rare for me. Its the sort of twisted humour that really appeals to me.

AHS: Freakshow.

Lawdy Thomas!
Lange channelling Bowie.
There are moments of freefall, but they don't undermine the whole.
O'Hare again is a revelation

Finished Department S last night.

Thoroughly enjoyable it was, all the cast were great but Peter Wyngarde totally stole the show. He's charisma on legs, sporting a dodgy tache.

Every episode had recognizable guest stars from Kate O' Mara to Anthony Hopkins, it was a bit of a who's who of stars of the time.

There's a decent 50 minute doc as an extra about the making of the series and an episode of Man in a Suitcase which co-starred Department S' Rosemary Nichols. If the episode was a cunning stunt was to sell that series to me then in the words of a certain Cult Labs member... SOLD!

Note to self - Next Network sale. Order Jason King (High priority) and Man in a Suitcase.
