Nice ones! :thumb:

Today I received a little package from the USA...I was curious about it's contents as I had been looking for this oop dvd everywhere for several months now and was unable to find it.
I even started doubting it actually existed...but seems it does exist! :)
Last one in stock as well...

I really wanted this edition as I already own several of the other HK Fortune Star remastered releases.

I had this on pre-order with Amazon.com, nearly £28.00 with Expedited Shipping!!!, but have just cancelled the order as the release appears to have been delayed yet again!
Think I'll wait until it's actually out before purchasing it and hopefully one of the Amazon UK Marketplace sellers will have it for a much more reasonable price too.

ImportCDs have it for a reasonable price, just under £16 with shipping.

Think I'll wait until they list on Amazon UK Marketplace, will probably be cheaper still, and they'll only charge 1.26 for p+p.

I picked it up a couple of months ago.

Its not bad at all, a few nice gory kills, but it is pretty dark, you'll need the lights off when you watch. (which i always have anyway).

What do u think then of my buys

keirarts 30th July 2012 02:29 PM

My BDX 1200 blu-ray player turned up about half an hour ago. A quick firmware upgrade followed by a remote hack and its now region free. Checked the WHISPERER IN THE DARKNESS, which though region free has the latest firmware requirements and it plays fine so the machine should last me. Best thing is EVIL DEAD 2, the supurb quality region locked disc is going for less than £6 (before postage) so I bought that as well as the DIVIDE (a film I would have loved to have bought from the uk, but sadly no blu-ray is yet available).

The players sitting under my ps3 set permenantly at REGION A and REGION 0 for dvd's so its going to be primarily playing my dvd's and imported discs, while the uk stuff will run via the ps3.

I'm now a very happy fella! (though somewhat poorer)

I've had that Evil Dead 2 BD since it came out, when I found out it was locked it was too late to cancel so for the time being I'm stuck with it, I really need to invest in a region free player so I can watch it

These are the guys I bought my player off, speedy delivery fully working and very good condition. (no dents or surface marks on player and looks as new despite being a refurb) 12 months warranty and free postage and you get change out of £40. Not bad imo.

Toshiba BDX1200, regionfree DVD and multiregion BD | AVForums.com - UK Online

This is the firmware to hack it, I literally just followed the instructions (remember to put the update in a file named UPG_ALL. before you stick it on the usb stick). Its very easy to do.

For me the decision was made after redemption started locking their discs and Shout factory announced those lovely looking halloween 2 and 3 blu's (part 3 was the clincher, I love that movie)

Rik 30th July 2012 04:54 PM

Cheers for the info, I'll be having one of those in the next couple of weeks :)

PaulD 30th July 2012 05:55 PM

I believe those Beyond Terror releases are just repackaged Vipcos so they should be the same in terms of picture quality.

The Code Red disc is the best release Dem.
None of the other releases are much good I've read...the film is PD it seems so you can guess what it looks like on the other releases.

Maybe this will be repressed by CR as well someday.

bdc 30th July 2012 06:26 PM

You'll need to buy some other ones before he can repress I think.;)
