Pacific Rim (2013) OMGWTFBBQ GIANT ROBOT VS MONSTER ACTION THAT'S ACTUALLY FUN TO WATCH AND THERE WAS A ROCKET PUNCH! In other words, a thoroughly enjoyable and unpretentiously cavalier pulp sci-fi spectacle with it's heart on it's sleeve.

The Prowler & Blow Out

The former is an ok movie and a good showcase for Savini, however I'm not sure why it's as popular as it appears to be.

The latter is superb. John Travolta and John Lithgow were great in this and I also enjoyed Dennis Franz's scumbag in wife-beater vest, drinking scotch continually.

Pacific Rim - 7/10

Enjoyable Evangelion homage, great lighting and costumes, but I always dislike del Toro's creature designs, and the camera-work during the action made it hard to see what was going on, which was a shame.

Wow, really? I love em! The Pale Man from Pan's Labyrinth and the Angel of Death from Hellboy 2 are my faves. Both played by Doug Jones, of course . . .

Yup can't stand them, and his usage of CGI never looks convincing either, Cronos was great because he didn't use any.

I loved the use of CGI to remove part of Jones legs below the knee to give the Pan's Labyrinth Fawn those horse-like limbs. Subtle stuff like that never fails to captivate me . . .
