From 1957: part 2

Gunfight at the OK Corral - "Ok Corral, Ok Corral" Bored me when I first saw it as a kid but enjoyed this time round!
The Incredible Shrinking Man - A great movie that never bores me and with a great theme tune.
Tarzan and the Lost Safari - Gordon Scott in yet another generic jungle lord outing, this time in colour.
The Land Unknown - Starring the next Tarzan after Scott, Jock Mahoney. Oh dear man in T-Rex suit and all the budget spent on a mechanical plesiosaur! Could have been so much better with stop motion.
Blue Murder at St Trinians - The second movie in the franchise. School girls didn't look like that when I was in secondary school....might be because my school was an all boys one! :-(
Paths of Glory - What a movie! This has to be my favourite Kubrick.
Loving You - Elvis' second movie, hmmm!
Jailhouse Rock - Another Elvis one thats a little better than the last one, although I didn't care much for the character he played, I thought he was a bit of a knob tbh.
Une Parisienne - Bardot in a French comedy that was actually quite good.
Night of the Demon - Classic British horror which I thought was quite effective. Although the demon model wasn't great I thought its appearence from out of the mist and its walk toward its victims was worthy of some of todays FX.
The Curse of Frankenstein - Hammers first stab at the old Universal franchise and quite good too!

Off to begin 1958 with 'Revenge of Frankenstein' and one that I've been waiting for months to see 'Dracula'

Daughters of satan

A young tom selleck in a made for TV movie, about a man who finds a painting of of three witches being burned at the stake, one of the witches looks a lot like his wife. queue a lot of mysterious going ons, killings and a devil dog. Remember watching this late Friday night when I was about 10 and finding it very scary, sadly it's not the least bit scary now. 6.5/10

Creature

A group of teenagers are out on a trip when they hear the legend of half man/ half alligator ( who looks a lot like killer croc, batman animated series version)and go to investigate. Some very poor acting, unlikable victims and a rubber suit monster. Only real highlight was Sid Haig. 6/10

Next up two more films from netflix both which I have never seen

Iron rose
Sasquatch (lance henriksen)

I'd rather wait a few weeks and see it at the cinema I work at.

If you went to an all boys school, then those mythical creatures known as "schoolgirls" certainly DID look like the ones at St. Trinians!

Spun (Jonas Akerlund, 2002, Pathe UK dvd)

Hadn't seen this in a dog's age, so was looking forward to revisiting this. Hmmm. Memory is selective alright. Lots of "acting" "out of it"....reusing every junkie cliche since time immemorial...not a patch on A Scanner Darkly imo.

Conan The Barbarian (John Milius, 1982)

Hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahaha. Containing more hilarious imagery than the last 3 comedies that I've watched, this goes into the topp 100, if only for the sex scene. Now I'm off to watch Conquest AGAIN!!

I have the Redemption BD, and thought Trans-Europ-Express was a brilliant concept, beautifully executed. It's one of the rare films which I finished watching and immediately considered watching again. The only other which has elicited that response recently was L'Immortelle!
