I love Little Shop of Horrors and always wanted to see the plants rampage footage, i think it's great and really well done but i can see why they changed the ending.

Knowing the original so much then seeing the characters die is pretty downbeat, the original theatrical version is more of an enjoyable film even if it is pretty dark.

Still it was great to finally see the footage, perhaps they should have kept the original as is, then have made a sequel with new characters and an all out earth takeover, i'd have watched that.

Alternatively they could have had the rampaging plant footage as a Rick Moranis dream sequence, to make him realise he had to destroy Audrey II, but have kept the good ending.

Job sorted.

I've never seen Little Shop of Horrors.

Always avoided it as i get those cringe worthy Goonies type vibes about it.

That's probably because of the PG rating, but i think it's a great alien invasion story and has some pretty dak themes, with the "hero" succumbing to being led by the plant and becoming an accessory to murder to get money and the woman he loves.

It also has some great songs and lots of smart cameos from comedians of the time, Steve Martin, John Candy and Bill Murray.

I love it and it's definitely in my list of films to watch when i just want to sit back and be entertained.

You don't normally get songs about sadistic dentists in your average PG musical.

Default Tomorrow Never Dies

Tomorrow Never Dies

Pierce Brosnan's 2nd outing as James Bond sees him teaming up Chinese Agent Michelle Yeoh to take down a Media Mogul intent on creating a War between The U.K and China.

In my opinion, this is definitely better than Goldeneye as I felt that the story flowed better and had better villains and henchmen.

Terri Hatcher is a small role although I wonder why they bothered casting a (then) famous Actress.

Also during the cast credits, I noticed a certain Gerard Butler mentioned as one of the Seaman on board The Devonshire.

movies 5.jpg

This are the movies I managed to watch the last few weeks, Wild was the wife's choice, now we shall do the Pacific Crest Trail...

Stuber It's funny to see Batista outside the ring trying to be an actor, doesn't really work the movie, it's funny for some moments but you forget you watched the movie after 30m

Overlord Someone spend to much time playing Return to the Castle of Wolfenstein and watching Frankenstein Army..

Wilkolak the plot for this movie was exciting Children liberated from a Nazi concentration camp have to overcome hunger, thirst and vicious dogs in an abandoned mansion surrounded by the forest. and I really wanted to like the movie, but you never connect with the children and there is no real tension during the movie.. just a shame.

The Last Days of Frankie the Fly Nice Neo-noir movie where Dennis Hooper steals the show, and funny to see Kiefer in a porn director job.

Greener Grass Desperate Housewives on LSD, that is the only way I can describe this movie, for very specific viewers.

Blood on Her Name Now this was a nice indie movie surprise, with some noir elements, keeps you on the edge of your seat with a couple of nice twists - Recommend.

1900 Today I spend all my morning/afternoon watching this movie 5 hours and 17m, it's not a masterpiece, it's a very political movie, Bertolucci doesn't hide his Communist views, could be much shorter there is a lot of parts in the movies that looks like they are there just to make the movie bigger, and Donald Sutherland I still don't know if he was a genius on this movie, or he was on drugs the all time

300: Rise of an Empire (2014)

A worthy sequel to the original film with superb graphic novel style FX and a notably high amount of bloodshed in what is a frenetic and hugely enjoyable movie.

Although Sullivan Stapleton is no Gerrard Butler when it comes to charisma as a leading man he's decent enough but pales in comparison with the deliciously evil and dangerously sexy Eva Green who stalks this film like a beautiful tiger does it's prey.

KING KONG (1933)

"The film stands on it's own as a landmark in movie making, a pioneering technical achievement. But it's more than that. It's a triumph of story telling, an audacious adventure in to a fantastic world of make-believe that succeeds in balancing reality and fantasy".
Ray Harryhausen

In 2020, this is still the greatest special effects film ever made
