Robowar (1988, Bruno Mattei .. oops)

Reb Brown fights a "predator" ?? Yes please!

Madness as only CF fans know. RB and his motley crew head off on a seemingly by the numbers mission only to find ... something else waiting for them.
Yes, it cribs quite a bit from the Arnie flick I'll have you know.
Stick in a few superflous characters and subplots and the usual strict adherence to physics and motion that we've come to know and love from this quarter. My only gripe is that RB only seems to shine at the end.
A joy, if a tad dull in stretches.
Some of the ST will be familiar.
Recommended. You know who you are

SMILE BEFORE DEATH ( 1972 )
Family inheritance is at the centre of this intriguing Giallo, with many twists and turns, right up to the finale.
Jenny Tamburi plays the young sexpot at the centre of the story, while the always delectable Rosalba Neri stars as one of the plotters.
This is no black gloved killer tale, but is very enjoyable indeed.
Having only ever seen this one on a crappy dvd, Arrow’s Blu Ray presentation is a revelation - it looks fantastic.

THE WEAPON, THE HOUR, THE MOTIVE ( 1972 )
The murder of a bed hopping priest sets in motion a chain of events, including more murders and hidden past secrets. Throw in a bit of nunsploitation and you get a right mix of themes in this little seen entertaining giallo.

Both of these movies could well have been part of Vinegar Syndrome’s Forgotten Gialli series, but instead are part of Arrow’s excellent Giallo Essentials box set. I really hope this sells well enough for Arrow to release another volume. One of my favourite releases of the year, so far.

Sounds good, Mojo. I picked up the first of these sets last week at a nice reduced price. Seen two of the three films before though.

I already had those as individual editions from Arrow.
I really liked the fact that none of these had been released by them before.

The only one i've seen before in your set is The Killer Reserved Nine Seats which i have on a Spanish dvd. The pic quality is excellent i imagine it's a port or rip off of the Camera Obscura release.

Good film and one i'd be happy to double dip on.

Righting Wrongs (1986, Cory Yuen)

Finally.
The 'rock and Yuen Biao go up against awful sorts in the prime cut of HK ribtickler
Enough already. This was worth the wait. The set pieces are plentiful and come briskly along to aid the pacing. Notable wee turn fae the director and aw.
Recommended. Of course.
