Knock At The Cabin (2022, M Night Shymalayan)

Based on a book that I haven't read. The cabin looks nice. The cameo made me have to stop the film as I was laughing that much.
When a group of strangers shatter their idyll, a modern family have a choice to make.
His silliest film yet imho which owes a debt to Frailty cough cough.

The Void. 2016.

A film that pays homage to the 80s films with original creature effects that aren't CGI and well crafted, a not so big cast but two familiar faces Kenneth Welsh and Art Hindle, a secluded setting of a near closing down hospital. Very dark toned atmosphere that does make you want to watch this in the dark and add a dash of H.P. Lovecraft The Cult Of Cthuhlu. Third time watching this and still mesmerised on the writing and directing of this film, it feels like they knew that the audience wanted something original mixed in with some good gore and creature effects. When watching this in the dark I kinda forgot about the flashing images in parts.

That's quite some feat.

A lot of competition.

Well I'm finding it hard to imagine something sillier than The Happening. But maybe I'm confusing silly with absolute crap.

Creed II

Adonis Creed becomes Heavyweight Champion Of The World but Ivan Drago's Son shows up to challenge him. This is a really good Film which merges one of the main storylines of the Rocky Films into the Creed Films. Dolph Lundgren is amazing in this with his look of disdain.

The only issue is that one of the deleted scenes, which was Adonis and Viktor sitting in the Locker Rooms after the Fight and Rocky and Ivan finally putting the past behind them, should have been in the Film.

Antman And The Wasp: Quantumania

When Antman's Daughter finds a signal in the Quantum Realm, the family is transported into that realm where they have to battle Kang. One of the better recent Marvel Movies but it was ok. Jonathan Majors did play a good villain.

It's getting to the point where I'm getting to the point where I may give up on the Marvel Franchise, it appears that I need to watch the TV shows now but I don't have the time or desire to do so.

Total Film or Empire did state that it might be a good idea to do a recap/previously video beforehand.

Triangle Of Sadness

The story of a Voyage on a Luxury Ship as seen by the Staff and Passengers. It's an interesting watch with a certain Dinner Scene rivalling Jackass for bodily fluids but the last 3rd, where they are stranded on a Desert Island, Lord Of The Flies style, does drag on.

The Dinner Scene where the camera effects mimic a Rocking Boat along with the reveal of what's for Dinner is funny however.

The TV shows and the movies are becoming co-dependant now. Without watching one the other won't make complete sense as the TV shows are being used to create major plot points. It makes no sense as without subscribing to Disney Plus the TV shows are inaccessible....oh....hang on....

I saw this last when it was first released on DVD and should really revisit it.

I've just looked at my review and I rated it at the time, even being impressed by Paul Kaye (at the time best-known for playing Dennis Pennis on TV) as the scientist responsible for the titular equation.

These were my final thoughts:

"Stellan Skarsgård has the perfect mix of gravitas and world-weariness as Eddie, the cop who’s equally at home on the streets as the criminals and has a good relationship with Melissa George, now a genre regular after appearances in Turistas (Paradise Lost), The Amityville Horror and 30 Days of Night.

WΔZ is Tom Shankland’s feature film debut and it’s an accomplished one at that. The cover quote “SAW by way of SE7EN” sums it up well, as WΔZ is an intelligent and involving detective drama, with a fine denouement and toe-curling torture scenes.

Recommended for genre fans."

I also enjoyed the commentary by Tom Shankland and Alan Jones.

I came across it on Prime, have watched it before and enjoyed it but enjoyed it a bit more this time. Paul Kaye is a good comedian but this showcased how good of a serious actor he can be given a decent role.

Think I will have to re-watch Paradise Lost, I done a triple feature night with that along with Captivity and Catacombs a few years back.

F*cking hell! Really?

Catacombs and Captivity were terrible. I did like Turistas (Paradise Lost) though.

I can't really remember what happened in the films and a refresher doesn't always hurt may corrupt my mind a little
