Went on the big wheel featured in this film a couple of weeks ago in Vienna. Worryingly it is actually the same wheel and carriages.

Highly recommended.

Greetings!
I remember seeing it uncut on laser-disc in late 80s, really brutal opening that explains Bronson's rage. Much different from the watered down bbfc vhs. Winner does take some flack(some deserved) but he does tell a good yarn with very little money. In 'Firepower' he films Sophia Loren so well that she's charming and sexy in virtually every shot(if you're a fan of ms. Loren it's a must see). Can't remember the time frame but a guy in New York shot 3/4 muggers dead on the subway as they tried to mug him, don't know if he inspired the film or the other way round.

I've just finished watching Vittorio De Sica's Shoeshine ,a great neoralism film with really good perfomances by the 2 nonprofessional child actors and the first foreign film to receive an Oscar

a few more films viewed today....

started with L.A Confidential, i'd seen this before but never really watched it, wow is this film awesome, Crowe is bang on and im not usually a fan of his, Spacey brilliant, Guy Pearce is really good in his first hollywood outing and Basinger is lovely and the whore. Really great film.

Then i watched McQ starring John Wayne, this was also a pretty awesome flick, more intone with bullitt than Dirty Harry but has two great car chases the final one across a deserted beach.

Finally watched Faster, the new revenge flick starring Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson and Billy Bob Thornton, this was seriously lacking something, it's the kind of film we expect the rock to make but there was a stupid subplot about an assassin that didn't fit with the rest of the plot, worth a rent but nothing spectacular.

Finally got round to buying "Threads" on DVD and watched it last night. Although the threat of global nuclear war may have diminished the power of this film has not. I saw it on TV several years ago and it's still shocking and terrifying. The way the escalating conflict is explained through TV and radio broadcasts is brilliant. Unrelentingly grim from start to finish. A must see.

Saw the 2009 Anthology flick Trapped Ashes last night.

It was ok flick, wasnt very good or bad to be honest.
The first story was about zombie breasts so that was funny!

Ending was cheesy and you could tell it was gonna happen a mile off.
If you got 100 mins to kill then check it out.

I haven't really, but it does sound like good fun, so I'll add it to my Lovefilm rental queue.
