Well aren't we all artsy fartsy! Jokes. I just have plain old beer and a trip to the takeaway later for a kebab.

Can't get blue cheese past my nose, I like 'em white 'n' crumbly; Cheshire, Wensleydale, Lancashire & Caerphilly. They make your cheeks ache like you've been using a peashooter for too long!

As promised I watched Mad Max 3: Beyond Thunderdome which I think is perhaps the weakest of the three. I think Mad Max 2 is my favourite.

Yesterday I also watched the U.K. blu of Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, which for me has diminished over time.

Today's film was the rather depressing Import/Export. An interesting and thoughtful look at the life of immigrant workers.

Loved "Warlords of Atlantis" and all the other Doug McLure films that came out around then. Believe it or not the "special" effects were cutting edge then!

Is "The Skull" the Hammer film about the Marquis de Sade's skull possessing someone? If it is, I thought it was hooey when I was a kid but haven't seen it since about 1972!

Just remembered "The Night of the Big Heat" was almost like a Quatermass or Doomwatch thing set on a Scottish island that had been invaded by carpets from outer space with one slow moving tentacle. Fun if I remember right.

Recent watches, not seen alot these past few weeks...

THE MATRIX: Groundbreaking for it's visual FXbut while it's entertaining it does seem a little convoluted at times.

THE MATRIX RELOADED: Again fantastic visual FX but ruined by messy plotting and overly choreographed fight scenes.

THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS: My personal favourite of the three films, fantastic action scenes, a more coherent plot and the battle for Zion is epic.

THE GRAND DUEL: Lee Van Cleef is the former sheriff trying to prove the innocence of a young gunslinger to a town run by a despotic family called the Saxons. Beautiful cinematography especially the B+W flashbacks and a familiar score (used in Kill Bill). Plays out more like a crime thriller than a western even though it's set in the early 1900's. The Mill Creek blu-ray that has the additional Keoma looks stunning.

I really like The Skull. It's daft, but I consider it one of my favourite Amicus films.
