Day of the triffids classic sci fi even this was made in the 60s its exactly how films should be not like today's films and the malarky we moan about , eg Day the earth stood still the remake was just one huge special effect and nothing else .

So I watched this today.

Still thoroughly enjoyed watching it. And hey they should do a sequel to it. Tim Thomerson is still alive so Charles Band get to it.

The Dark Mirror(1946).

An intriguing film noir about a doctor found stabbed to death and his lover Terry Collins, played by Olivia De Havilland, is the main suspect. But as Terry has a twin identical sister, Ruth, it's impossible for the police to prove who did it.

Robert Siodmak directs this enjoyable psychological film, which is well acted and keeps you entertained with its various twists and turns.
Olivia de Havilland is excellent in her dual role as the twin sisters, one good and the other bad, which is well done considering the limitations of special effects at that time.

Lew Ayres also co stars as a psychologist who is brought into the case to help unravel the crime but ends up falling in love with Ruth.

All in all, a well recommended noir 7.5/10.

Hide And Go Shriek (1988)

Artless slasher.
Hey!! Let's go ..... spend the night in Daddy's department store?? A bunch of overaged 'kids' try to get it awn ... whilst acting like rabid baboons seemingly.
The whole thing boils down to ... a tiff. Seriously.
Straaange where the rest of it is perfunctory piddle. So ... it's a semi recommend ... ?

Hmmmm...... maybe not then

Apprentice To Murder (1988)

Yeah ... I went for a double bill ....
Set in 1927 ... unconvincingly cough in places , this rather piecemeal tale apparently based on true events, stars the clumsy waiter from Kentucky Fried Movie and the nymph fae Legend, I'm still nae quite sure what it amounted to .
Seemingly able to control rabid dogs, Sutherland seems to represent 'ancient wisdoms' where the younger cast are typical of the coming century?? There's some voodoo thrown in. I'm making it sound stranger than it was as this is all told in a rather flat style. An oddity. Like (but NOT like ) Night Train To Terror
Ahem.

Overboard.

Joanna Stayton(Goldie Hawn) is a spoilt rich girl and to say that she's rude is a understatement. and hires carpenter Dean Proffit(Kurt Russel) to redisign her closet on her yacht. but after he does the job she refuses to pay him when he uses oak instead of ceder for the job. then later on she accidently falls overboard and gets amnezia. and Kurt Russel gets revenge by claiming that she's his wife called Annie, and intends to make her work off her debt.

this is one very funny 80's comedy indeed and has great chemistry between Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russel who were together in real life. and Goldie Hawn plays the part brilliantly as the fish out of water Annie who is used to living in the lap of luxury and now has to cook and clean and look after Russels kids and dogs in a hillbilly lifestyle.

a very entertaining feel good comedy that puts a smile on your face and i give it 84.5 out of 100
