Dogs of Hell (Rottweiler). 1983. A pack of dogs trained by the U.S. Army to hunt humans escape from a cargo truck and begin to terrorize a small mountain community. Filmed in 3-D, director Worth Keeter manages to take man's best friends and turn them into uncontrollable savages in this dim light cheap horror that was entertaining. Earl Owensby plays the local sheriff who tries to protect his community from a pack of crazed dogs that are highly trained to hunt and kill. The film isn't any different to the film Dogs except it's only one breed, there is some tension built up very slowly and done well with some good make-up effects. Friday The 13th & A Breed Apart Friday The 13th This is the 1980 original where Camp Councilors preparing to re-open a Camp are murdered by a mysterious killer. Starring Kevin Bacon, this was the 1st of many Friday The 13th Movies however this is the 1st time I've seen this and to be honest I found it dull and boring. I prefer The Burning, which has a similar storyline but is definitely more entertaining. A Breed Apart Rutger Hauer is the Vietnam Veteran who lives remotely on a Island and protects the wildlife from poachers. Powers Boothe is a Mountain Climber hired by a reclusive millionaire played by Donald Pleasence to steel rare Bald Eagle Eggs for his private collection which are on the Island. Kathleen Turner co-stars. On You Tube, I like watching the trailer reels from VHS Rental Videos (Especially ones from the 80's and from obscure distributers) the trailer for this film appeared on one of these reels and I managed to order a copy (From Spain) and it is a entertaining film. Hauer plays his role well. With the cast this film has, I think this would be perfect for a Arrow or Eureka release. |

Waterloo-poster_English1.jpeg.jpg WATERLOO (1970) A big budget flop at the time of release. For me, the movie is great with some awesome battle scenes. I love the aerial shots of the British Infantry squares when the French Calvary attack. A book on the making of the movie to be released next year. 205th anniversary of the battle yesterday. |

If I remember correctly, A Breed Apart was absolutely butchered or not actually finished. |

Regarding A Breed Apart, I couldn't tell you about it being butchered or unfinished but the Hauer/Boothe scene at the end seemed rushed and anti-climatic.
