Nightmare Sisters. 1988. This was a hoot, right at the start we have a white guy putting on the worst Indian accent and being a fortune teller, try and get away with that today you got no chance. Three geeky sorority sisters Linnea Quigley, Michelle Bauer and Brinke Stevens invite a couple of unpopular geeky lads for a night of partying that ends in comical fashion. Is this a comedy horror or a parody of a soft porn film...I have no idea but does have a interesting moment with the three female leads and a bathroom moment. This is not a big budget film, the acting was laughable, some good references to other horror films and naked women...I'd watch this again. Observe and Report (2009) I observed and my report is thus. D+ Needs to try harder in the humour department as this film about shopping mall security guards is more anti-comedy than comedy. Seth Rogen is largely unlikable throughout until the last few minutes. Anna Faris, Collette Wolfe and Ray Liotta save the film if you consider a mark of D+ saved. |

The House On The Edge Of The Park. 1980. Somewhat home invasion film done in a way that Ruggero Deodato could come up with in the 80s. David Hess near playing the same chatacter from The Last House On The Left, a brutal unbalanced in life psycho killer who enjoys toying with his victims teaming up with Giovannai Lombardo Radice who does seem to be a bit cuckoo in the head. Annie Belle (who isn't shy about showing off her body...front and back), Christian Borromeo invite these two hodlums to a party after fixing their car, what starts off friendly becomes a nightmare for their other friends Lorraine De Selle, Marie Claude Joseph and Gabriele Di Giulio but there is other motives why the men were invited to the house party. I have always had a soft spot for this film it's dark, disturbing, borderline erotic and decently made even though the Mrs said and I tend to agree to disagree (gotta try and keep her happy) that the film is slow but does build up well with the characters. the 88 4K is a decent version of this film released, the picture quality is sharper along with the sound (just a shame about the background score not being the best) but there is the close up of Brigitte Petronio getting sliced that seems to be missing from previous releases. Well another enjoyable serial this time we follow Dick Tracy as he tries to foil the spider gang led by the lame one, called that because he has a club foot and not because he's a lame villain. Tracy's brother has been experimented on by the lame ones right hand man a genius hunchback who has turned him evil. We have car chase, fist fights , zeppelins , flying wings and a boat chase that George Lucas rip off in The last crusade. Started these two serials |

Hell Of The Living Dead. 1980. A rip off from Dawn Of The Dead, a journalist and her cameraman team up with a few members from a S.W.A.T team try and survive a zombie outbreak done in a style from Bruno Mattei. This isn't a perfect film, never has been and never will be yet i'm sure we have all watched it countless times and probably know it word for word, yet Mr Mattei never disappoints with the gore especially with the wee lad have a munch on his dad's internal organs for a snack. The workman in the plant being munched on by a rat or the old woman who has one munching on her while say in a wicker seat. My only gripes with the 4K release, the dubbing is all over the place, seriously its like there is a one or two second gap or longer from when the actors are talking and finishing their mouth open but no noise, it's like the voice overs have missed their que. Second gripe is the blood, good effects with the make-up i'll give the film that part but the blood seems to be pink and not red, it's clear as day even when the journalist is looking in the school building and sees the old man who turned to a zombie, white top pink colouring doubt Daz will wash that out. I want to say I would recommend this but if you have the blu-ray stick with that or wait for this one to come down in price, sorry guys me and the Mrs had some high hopes this version would be top notch on 4K but picture quality is a let down. Float.jpg #Float (2022, Zac Locke) Relax folks, I think that I've just seen the worst film of the year. Returning to spread a friend's ashes, a group of people travel down the same river he died in. Should go smoothly, no?? Hilarious. If it's not the terrible acting, dialogue like nails in your scrotum or whatever, I had a ball. There's even a character called Creepy who literally interrupts their fun to tell them they are all doomed. If it appears on Shudder or whatever, then if you make it past the opening (it's only 75 min after all). Bonus at the end, with a music video that wouldn't get played on TOTP ahem, by someone (the director??)

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets Of Dumbledore. 2022. Only seemed fitting that with earlier movie watching that the Mrs made me watch this, Mads Mikkelsen steps in the role previously played by Johnny Depp as Grindewald and manages to do a decent job, Jude Law had a small appearance as Dumbledore but here he has a bigger part. Aside with some decent effects and a bit more part in Hogwarts, the plot to this film had both of us scratching our heads. 45 mins into the film and feels like the makers jumped ahead and missed out a major plot line, think a re-watch soon will happen and hopefully catch on to the plot. 91Fustivm5L._AC_SL1500_.jpg
