According to the specs on the 88 Films website, the documentary is on the DVD as well as the Blu-ray release.

Anthropophagous (DVD) – 88 Films

Would like to see a comparison between their DVD and BD.

The lower resolution usually hides stuff like scanner noise.

I just got the Blue-Underground BD:s of the Bronx Warriors trilogy, and the scanner noise is horrible on that release.
After I watched the BD, I tried the DVD that came in the same package, and even though you loose some of the sharpness, the fact that it hides the scanner noise, actually made it look more pleasing to the eye.
And since the scanner noise covered up most of the finedetails anyways, you aren't missing much of it.

Though, you also could set the BD player to output 720p instead, as it makes the scanner noise a bit less intense.

Haven't seen the Anthro BD in motion, so I don't know how much noise that is visible.

I really wanna see that documentary, but I'm gonna wait for a price drop.

Yeah, you do that!

I love the artwork and the packaging on those DVDs and, if space wasn't so limited, I'd start double dipping and collecting them.

I'm currently half way through Blade and Stephen is right not as good a scan as Holocaust. The colours have never been that on Blade to begin with so the colours are quite muted anyway. There's a good amount of grain on show so no excessive DNR has been used, the only problem is the strange magenta banding that appears in some scenes like it did on Anthro. Is that scanner noise?

So not a bad presentation and in some scenes it looks pretty good, the audio is in fine shape with the exception of a bit of loose dubbing. The only flaw is the magenta banding which occasionally pops in.

Anthropophagous (DVD) – 88 Films
The documentary is one of the main reasons I want to buy Anthropophagus, so I've gone ahead and ordered the DVD from 88's website. I do have 88's Zombi Holocaust BD as that is meant to be a proper step up from the DVD release, unlike Anthro.

Posted yesterday on 88 Films facebook page about the Anthropophagous bluray.

It's been brought to our attention that a load of people are selling Anthropophagous on eBay for crazy prices, we don't really want that to happen so we've decided to release it generally on October 5th. Just to clarify though this general release won't have the slipcase and will only include 1 postcard.

Also we can guarantee it won't be £8.99 in hmv or anywhere else so please don't feel ripped off. In fact it's currently £28.26 on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B013...mp_s_a_1_22…

If you want to order it from us directly the stock will be back in tomorrow.
