I hope it's a fake trailer, but it's mentioned in the first paragraph of the article:

"To paraphrase an old standard, you wait all year for some Doctor Who news, and then several pieces come along at once. So just hours and minutes after we learned Steven Moffat’s hopes for the next Doctor and watched the latest teaser, we’ve also now had eyes on the official synopsis for the new series’ first episode, due to air a fortnight this Saturday."

It looks cheap and unrealistic. It's not wide screen and it doesn't link to other BBC trailers when it ends.

Oh and it's by someone named Stewart Seyfried.

The trailer mentioned in the article is probably the proper series 10 trailer that was released at the end of Feb and is currently airing on tv. It is possible the RT were duped as well, you never know. Nowhere else is running the tank video. I bet the RT got it from DoctorWhotv who have had it as news all day.

I agree with you on all counts, but if you click on the link in the article, it takes you to this page:

Doctor Who: The Tardis takes on tanks in a new trailer - origins of "He has a box that you can call for help"

which features the clip on the Doctor Who Official Twitter feed although it is admitted that "...it’s unlikely this footage will show up in the actual series (it’s probably just supposed to give a sense of the tone), fans may still be pleased to recognise its dialogue from comments previously made by Steven Moffat in describing the Time Lord back in 2013."

If it's not a fake then why have the main news sites not run it. Doctor Who News ran the episode synopsis today but strangely omitted the trailer.

Doctor Who News

I don't know, you are convincing me it might be legit but my gut says it isn't.

I know a lot of people don't like this episode, but I enjoyed it and thought those robots were very 'classic Who' in their realisation.

BBC Major box ticking alert. Black and gay.

Doctor Who gets first openly gay companion - BBC News

Thinking out loud but i'm not even sure why this is news worthy. People are gay, people are straight, does it really matter?

Maybe Steven Moffat will make a big issue out of it when there shouldn't be one. Just as he does with the Paternoster couple. Constantly telling us they are married.
