You should def pick up Ghost Light, Survival and Battlefield. Personally I think Dragonfire is easily the best of season 24.

Transmitted today in 1993 (during the BBC 'Children In Need' telethon), the second part of 'Dimensions In Time'

Although it was a pitiful and laughable story, it was good that the beeb thought enough of the show to bring it back after four years in the wilderness and it was wonderful to catch up with so many different companions from yesteryear (altho some had badly aged). Alongside Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy were Sophie Aldred (Ace), Bonnie Langford (Mel Bush), Nicola Bryant (Peri Brown), Sarah Sutton (Nyssa), John Leeson (Voice of K-9), Lalla Ward (Romana), Louise Jameson (Leela), Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane Smith), Richard Franklin (Captain Mike Yates), Caroline John (Liz Shaw), Nicholas Courtney (Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart), Deborah Watling (Victoria Waterfield) and Carole Ann Ford (Susan Foreman).

Oh, there were some genuine salt-of-the-erf cock-er-nee types from 'EastEnders' as well!

Sadly, this was to be the final (official) appearance of Jon Pertwee as the Doctor (he died three years later) and also the last appearance of Caroline John as Liz Shaw on television (she died in 2012)

Never released on video or DVD (for obvious reasons), enjoy it now!

The BBC have released a synopsis for the Christmas special.

Quote:
Twice Upon A Time - The Doctor Who Christmas Special - 1x60’, BBC One

The magical final chapter of the Twelfth Doctor’s (Peter Capaldi) journey sees the Time Lord team up with his former self, the first ever Doctor (David Bradley - Harry Potter, Game of Thrones) and a returning Bill Potts (Pearl Mackie), for one last adventure.

Two Doctors stranded in an Arctic snowscape, refusing to face regeneration. Enchanted glass people, stealing their victims from frozen time. And a World War One captain destined to die on the battlefield, but taken from the trenches to play his part in the Doctor's story.

An uplifting new tale about the power of hope in humanity’s darkest hours, Twice Upon A Time marks the end of an era. But as the Doctor must face his past to decide his future, his journey is only just beginning...

That sounds like something I'd rather enjoy and a good entry point to the world of Doctor Who before the new series with a new Doctor begins.

I just hope it isn't convoluted nonsense ala the last episode transmitted to date of Sherlock.
