I'm going to see Solo tomorrow morning, heading for a 10 o'clock showing and hoping to beat any rush they will be on a bank holiday. I've not been blown away by any of the trailers so have very modest expectations.

I know many on here really enjoyed The Last Jedi and i'm not trying to start any arguments now.

A good percentage really didn't like it, myself included, and i think Solo has probably suffered because of that film. It's figures aren't low because audiences went to see it and thought it mediocre, it's figures are low because people didn't bother going to see it.
Or even better don't make anymore the films have had there day and they weren't that great to begin with.

Was going to see "Solo" but accidentally wandered into an arthouse screening of "Salo".

Still despite Chewbacca being absent there was a lot of fur on display.

Well, there is the fact that many people, both fans and critics, think of The Empire Strikes Back as one of the best films of all time.

Best of a bad bunch ,it's a good film. But hardly in the best films of all time.

Strange the same writer has giving us the best (empire) and worst (solo) star wars films.

It's definitely in my top 20 best films of all time.

The 500 Greatest Movies of All Time

The list was selected in September 2008 by over 10,000 Empire readers, 150 film makers and 50 film critics. The list was accompanied by many different covers, each of which went on sale. The top 5 chosen films are listed below.

1-The Godfather
2-Raiders of the Lost Ark
3-The Empire Strikes Back
4-The Shawshank Redemption
5-Jaws

In 2017, Empire surveyed five thousand readers to produce a list of the 100 greatest films ever made.

1-The Godfather
2-The Empire Strikes Back
3-The Dark Knight
4-The Shawshank Redemption
5-Pulp Fiction

Obviously everyone has different tastes and nobody's opinion is right or wrong, but it's clear that The Empire Strikes Back is not 'The best of a bad bunch' as you say, but a respected and loved film in it's own right.

When your paid by Disney trebor, you do as you're masters tell you. Otherwise, it's having your arse blasted off to a galaxy, far, Far, away....

There's not much of that feminist butt left. All that's needed now is Episode 9, then it's kiss what's left of her buttocks goodbye!

Hopefully.

Your just too cynical trebor. Solo blew my lightsaber socks off, quite literally.
You need to consume 10 bottles of Vodka just to enjoy the ride. Also did you see the health warning at the beginning of the movie?

Went to see Solo last night. Not as bad as I was anticipating. A little regressive and there's a twist involving a set of villains that felt more than a little stupid. Like pretty much every star wars film out there its shallow summer popcorn fun.
