Lifeforce.

Mathilda may in HD mmmmmm......tits.

Tobe hoopers film is an entertaining little romp that seemed to burn through cannons money like it was toilet paper. Not that this is a bad thing. No way would a grotty exploitation piece like this get a HUGE budget like the one Hooper had thrown at him for this one. They should have kept the title space vampires which really fits the film better. Lifeforce is a hugely entertaining slice of Schlock that should not be missed and the Arrow release does it proud. Many memories of Ms. Mays Mamories (see what I did!) and the habitual teenage self abuse they inspired came flooding back.

I was stuck on a submarine with a pervert from Newport when I first saw this! The VHS used to almost automatically stop due to the pervy one's habitual freeze framing and slo-mo-ing!

The first time i saw Frightmare i thought wow!

The second time it was a bit dull, after the third time i sold the Pete Walker box set.

The Comeback aside, all his horror output had better titles than what was onscreen.

I say this every time i post about Walker - He ain't a patch on Norman J.

Squirm (1976)
Human Pork Chop (2001)
Downtown (1975)
Hot Nights Of Linda (1975)
House Of Seven Corpses (1974)

In order.....Southern folks ain't keen on big city slickers it seems, would have looked amazing at a drive in imo.
Nasty nasty nasty little film, features a sequence to rival Salo for sheer unpleasantness imo.
Jess and Lina and her growler (and Paul Mueller in there somewhere) people may "dis" the Jesus for his overenthusiastic use of zer "zoom" function, but when it's focused on such a thing of natural beauty, who cares??
Mueller also turned up in HNOL, but I was too busy flogging the dolphin to take much notice.
A film crew film at the scene of a brutal crime. John Carridine is the "yer all DOOOOMED!!!" character. Severin have done a fine job remastering this odd obscurity. Kudos!!

And tonight I get to show someone Don't Torture A Duckling!! All spurred on by a chance remark about the CITB feature in The Darkside...mwhahahaha.

So is it Shameless or Blue Underground folks??

They're about on the same level for me.

Frightmare is a favourite of mine that usually gets watched at least once a year. I find it hard to pin down a favourite of Warren's, but I enjoy them all to some degree.

As for Walker, I also really enjoy The House of Whipcord and The House of Mortal Sin. The House of Long Shadows is also really entertaining and one that not many people seem to have seen.

I haven't seen HOLS since my pre cert got tape mould.

I keep meaning to pick up the recent dvd, but memory says it wasn't up to much really, once you get past the fact you get everyone in the same place for a change.

I too enjoyed Angels and Demons, as you say its not as good as the book which was excellent - a real page turner. Far superior to the boring Da Vinci Code novel which i gave up to half way through.
I'll have to give EdTV another go

Vampyre by Carl Th Dreyer.

What a brilliant surreal film, it was the 1st time i'd seen it and I was drawn in by it's misty look and creepy atmosphere
