My DVD/BD collection has increased by just over 800 since October last year and I bet 700 of those are due to recommendations and suggestions from the various forums here!

So far today, I have seen Run Man Run, I Sell The Dead and have just started watching The Two Deaths of Quincas Wateryell (a Portuguese comedy/horror/drama which was released on Monday so I really should get the review up ASAP).

It is well worth watching. It's like a Brazilian version of Weekend at Bernie's only with some social commentary and more laughs!

Just finished watching The Girl Can't Help It.

You like Jayne Mansfield?
You like music from the 50s?
You like a witty and clever satire about the music business of that time?
You like Frank Tashlin's filmmaking style 'with a wink'?

Go ahead and watch this fantastic flick!
I've still goosebumps and will certainly start tomorrow's day with some nice Little Richard and Fats Domino songs. Ah, and yes: I'm gonna print me an oversized poster of Jayne.

Greetings!

"NEDS", excellent film, not at all like I expected. Just when I thought I'd guessed where it was heading it kept going to places I never imagined it would. Loved all the clothing, it was as if they had raided my wardrobe!

Just seen Super

It was a pretty good flick! Pretty violent too!

Ellen Page was awesome as always. Good watch.

Well I just went and saw Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes. I literally JUST got home from the cinema! I have to say it was fairly decent. I can tell there will be people that will just hate it but personally I enjoyed it. I was hoping the CGI would be similar to Peter Jackson's King Kong (Which I know people hated, But I LOVED it. CGI really worked in that film!) but unfortunately it wasn't like that. The CGI was just as plain and as average as any other modern Hollywood film. Think Transformers but with Apes instead of giant speaking robot cars. As I said I know this film will have some hate but I did enjoy it.

Cool

Watched the beeb's double bill of 'Saturn 3' and 'Battle Beyond the Stars' last night, great "so bad it's good" fun. But if memory serves didn't 'Saturn' have a prolonged gory scene of the robot chopping up Keitel in revenge for him doing the same to the robot earlier in the film removed by the studio as too graphic? I Ask as Keitel just gets dragged off to reappear as a severed head later. Can't see any references online. Nice bit of gore might make up for Keitel's voice being dubbed. Any info?

The trailer is the best I've seen for a while, so I'll check it out for sure. As I posted elsewhere seems to have a nice retro feel.
