Laakekoe (2018, Topai Kauma, Ville Vaisnen) AKA Medicated. Unscrupulous types try and open a portal using human guinea pigs. Short and sweet, just over the hour etc. Obviously made by a load of metal fans ahem. The lead reminded me of Robert Webb .... a bit. Finnish. Not as much fun as Heavy Trip imho.

There's far too much cut and pasting goes on here. Far more than any other forum i've seen. People don't seem to be able to think and write for themselves. |

MV5BMmE2MmM5Y2YtNzEzMy00ZjJiLWE2ZWEtYzMzZGYxMTYxNDM2XkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyMTAyNDYyNzcw._V1_.jpg Best friends Maya and Dini are two ladies struggling to make ends meet they both work in a toll booth with dreams if quitting and opening a clothes shop together. After a run in with a strange customer Maya has had enough and they decide now is the time to follow their dream. But the dream is an even bigger struggle with no guaranteed income they are struggling more than ever barely making enough to make rent. But with news that Maya may be able to claim a big inheritance from her rich family their luck maybe about to finally change. Once in her ancestral village she finds out her family is hated and her life is in serious danger. This is a pretty solid Indonesian horror with a great setting the village is pretty creepy and the locals even more so. You get the feeling of unease for the girls all alone in the middle of nowhere surrounded by these people not an easy place to find or get out of. I really like that it relies on atmosphere and the setting rather than cheap scares when things appear in the background they are just there and then gone no jumping into the camera or anything of that bullsh*t. Ill say no more to avoid spoiling anything. My one problem that really felt so out of place was a scene taken directly from TCM it was so blatant and really unnecessary I really enjoyed this right from the start i was hooked straight away. There is like i said already a really great use of atmosphere and also lighting and colours to set a mood. I will have to check out the directors other film Satan's Slave. 7/10

if I put up a link there's complaint about not putting the post from the link, so someone will end up doing it, and if I put up the post from the link I get complained about for doing it, but yet if other people do it nobody says anything, sometimes I feel I just can't win. Damned if I do damned if I don't. Last edited by gag; 22nd February 2021 at 12:24 PM. |

Anyway, back to topic. Edit - Seeing as you added to your post i'll add to mine. I don't know about anyone else but i don't read anything much that you link to from other sites. I don't care. However i do read everything you actually write yourself. That goes for everyone, not just you gag. If i want to read other sites i will do but whilst i'm on Cult Labs i want to read what it's members have to say. Last edited by Demdike@Cult Labs; 22nd February 2021 at 12:31 PM. |

I'm not the only one who post links up, and the reason, why I use to only post links (before people edited it and put the whole link-up) is that a link doesn't take up much space so doesn't clog up the post and then people can have a choice if they want to click on the link or just ignore it, where as if the whole post is up it isn't as easy to ignore. |

You don't seem to grasp that it's the posting of links that doesn't interest me. If i'm on this forum i want to read from this forum or look at images on this forum not go to another website via a link. It doesn't happen much on any other forum because they don't allow it. Think and post for yourself. Back to topic now. What have you watched? |
