Schumacher's made some great films. A Time to Kill is a modern classic. I really like both Falling Down and 8mm too.

Both his Batman films are a lot of fun and The Client and Bad Company are entertaining enough.

If you watch it on Blu make sure it's the 25th Anniversary edition as it's head and shoulders above the first blu-ray image quality wise.

I'm not sure which one I have. It's in a boxset of the first three films.

The poor one i'm afraid. The 25th Anniversary edition came out in 2021. It has a white cover with a slip case.

Edit - I've never seen the early edition. It might be okay. The 25th anniversary edition looked pretty spectacular though.

The old one is fine, nothing amazing, but very watchable, the new one does look better though and has more realistic colours, the old one is a bit blue.

First time watching this it and it will not be the last , Dicaprio a sex crazed drug snorting stockbroker who makes Micheal Douglas character in wall street looking like mother Teresa . Well acted and directed and very funny in places and his Margret Robbie having cocaine snorted of her naked body what's not too like!

Now watching

Phantasm IV: Oblivion (1998)

Basically the same as the other two sequels to Phantasm (1979). Absolutely nothing you haven't seen before. I'm pretty sure this, Phantasm III (1994) and Phantasm II (1988) are all the same film just with different titles.

Fun but nothing outstanding.

Falling Down. 1993.

Michael Douglas has had some good roles over his career before this film was made and he manages to hold nothing back with his acting. Playing Bill who seems like a normal everyday average Joe who gets stuck in traffic and abandons his car and begins a morning of telling things how they are and embark on some violence.

Robert Duvall plats the detective who is retiring and trying to get through his last day with some work office pranks, nagging phone calls from his wife and piecing things together from a store owner who was attacked yet someone paid for a tin of soda, a gang were attacked and had a gym bag stolen full of guns and a hold up at a small fast food shop, all by a man in a white shirt and tie.

This film shows the decay of one man's life and generally becoming a somewhat anti-hero with glasses, Frederick Forrest turns up as a Army Sur-Plus store clerk who seems to agree with Bill's take on every day life and turns up thencreep factor a bit too much. To me this film does have its laughter/dark humour with the way Bill runs his mouth and says how it is but its very underrated.
