The Loved Ones

Had heard some great things about The Loved Ones for ages but never got around to watching and when I hear such high praise I usually wait until it all dies down before watching a film to avoid getting caught up in the hype. Finally got around to watching it a couple of weeks back and everything I had heard was true it is a great film.

First off there is fantastic practical effects and pretty inventive scenes of torture on the poor guy all because he had a girlfriend and could go to the dance with the uncool quite girl. The relationship between father and daughter was quite creepy once or twice a step away from incest. Many times throughout I said AW CHRIST out loud watching some of the more painful acts of torture. The Loved Ones is acted really well especially Lola the crazy bitch was outstanding many times I just wanted her to be punched in the face to shut here up she did exactly what you want from such a character she got under my skin.

I highly recommend The Loved Ones it's not just about torture there is much more to this film there is loss alienation and self self loathing.

8/10

Seen mad max fury road... Holy s*** that was brilliant. I can't find anything wrong with. Despite the fact that max himself doesn't do much for the most part. It was an excellent science fiction/action film. Oh yeah also the doof warrior.stole the shpw

wasnt sure which one to post this is in.
But im sure some people will know

i was browsing net and i saw this about workprints

Apocalypse Now – A 330 minute long workprint circulates amongst collectors
This Is Spinal Tap - A 270 minute long workprint exists (3 times the final film's length).
Grizzly II: The Predator – This 1984 film, featuring George Clooney, Charlie Sheen, Louise Fletcher, John Rhys-Davies, and Laura Dern, has never officially been completed or released, and only the workprint survives.

I reckon it makes the film even better! On top of that, has made all my female friends and girlfriend actually interested in seeing the movie which is a massive positive in my books

Yes a few times.

It's not one of my favourites to be honest. I think they took a bit of a dip in quality with some of those Bray Studios films. Perhaps not quality, but they seemed less fun. I think it was the way they tried to bring myths from other countries to British Gothic. Even Plague of the Zombies is a bit of a miss fire in my opinion.

Having said all that i still watch them every 18 months or so and am delighted to have them in my collection...again.
