Great read Keirarts, my favourite film by Scorcese, when your with Travis in the cab, with his inner thoughts you feel like you need a shower after. Great movie and now I need to watch it again as I have it but not watched it for a long time.
keirarts likes this.

Watching Red Christmas, part of the 101 xmas triple box.

Starts ok, reminded me of the masters of horror episode "pro life". Family gather at a huge house for xmas, none of them particularly likable, and a cloaked man appears at their door. They boot him out as his behaviour is strange then he comes back when it's dark and starts killing all these people you don't like.

Looks promising and it's an interesting idea but very slow and tedious.

4/10

Indeed. Travis Bickle is the quintessential 70s anti-hero.
Green with envy even if I have seen it at the pictures already.

Definitely, I’m a big fan of all the Scorsese/DeNiro films

Split Second 1992

In a dystopian London after floods police officer Harley Stone (Rutger Hauer) who lives on coffee, chocolate and paranoia believes that a serial killer that murdered his old partner is back. Is he facing a serial killer or something else. Teamed up with a new partner they will find what they are hunting or what is hunting them.

This is like one of those B Sci Fi movies that is worth the watch, it has it all, action, horror, bit of a few seconds of boobs, and people with hearts ripped out and guys needing big big f#@%ing gun and a guy calling a guard dog a dickhead has to be watched.

Rutger Hauer's performance is like any other film he has been in tough, he hasn't gone OTT in this even the one liners are funny. Only problem the villain's origin is never revealed, but still a good movie to watch.

Death Wish 3
Kersey returns to New York to find his old war buddy has been murdered, so he sets out killing the local gang of thugs off one by one.
This could have one of the most entertaining things I have ever watched, until it came to the rape scene with Marina Sirtis, which frankly was not necessary. However the final shootout scene partially makes up for that.

Yes, twas a bit of a shock seeing Troi in this context certainly. DW3 is archetypal Cannon fodder
I remember Winner crowing about it on Aspel or something at the time.

I'm just getting tired of watching rape in films, especially when some directors use it as an excuse just to get nudity in the film. Same issue I have with Death Wish 2. Every time I see it in schlock....you know what, this gif sums it up:
