I keep meaning to join Letterboxd but never do.

I suppose the turn of a new year is the easiest time to join and record your viewing from then on in.

Once you get into the habit of logging a film after you've seen it, it becomes second nature and it's really interesting to look back at the diary and see what you've watched, particularly when it comes to the end of the year!

Where do the pics / movie posters come from? Are they in a data base already or do you find them yourself online.

Example here - https://letterboxd.com/keir/film/monster-hunter/

It's a movie database so all of the covers are there already, I think they might come from imdb! You just search the film and add it.

I rarely review stuff on there, like Justin I use it to log films I’ve watched, it does come as second nature adding a film as soon as I’ve finished watching it

Also, in the case of alternate titles, if you search the title that's well known to you it comes up, so you don't specifically need to know, for example in the case of Absurd to search for 'Monster Hunter'. This is especially useful for cult films where the American title is not the UK title.

Some people (b_e) have multiple lists. Does it update itself for you?

Example.

I have a top 100 films of all time already listed. I watch a Will Ferrell movie and give it 5/5.

Does it automatically place itself in my top 100 due to it's high score or would it be something i'd have to do myself?

No, you have to manually do your lists! The scores are only out of 5 so it'd be tricky. Lists are OK, but I don't use them that often, mainly for Top 10 Tuesday on here when I remember to do it
