2019: After the Fall of New York (1983)

Sergio Martino's rip off of Mad Max the Road Warrior and Escape from New York has effective settings but the acting is functional at best. George Eastman in an orange shirt being the best so that's saying something.

Whilst it remains watchable the story is silly in the extreme and the film remains inferior to Castellari's Bronx Warrior films when it comes to post nuclear holocaust rip offs.

Rebecca by Alfred Hitchcock.

Gothic romance/mystery, clearly an influence on Crimson Peak & super creepy!
Falling asleep but cant stop watching as it's foggy & gothic and old.

Super cool & recommended for fans of The Uninvited

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil & Vile

Yes, someone does say the title of this. What's to say here? Efron acquits himself reasonably imho. As does Collins. Sheldon's in it. It doesn't let you off but Maniac it isn't. Thankfully tbh. Recommended if you laughed at Lords Of Chaos
Ahem.

Haven't seen it yet, am I right in saying some people don't get the concept, it's not the story of Ted bundy the serial killer, it's the story about him from his girlfriends point of view.

The comeback(1978)

Jack Jones stars as a singing crooner who is making a comeback and goes to stay at a creepy old mansion to work on his new album, where he meets the weird old couple who run the place.
and in the meantime a masked maniac dressed as an old hag chops up his ex wife with a sickle. and he has bad dreams afterwards.

Quite an enjoyable horror thriller from Pete Walker with loads of the old 70s charm. Pretty well acted as well, and featuring that david doyle chap from charlies Angels as his manager, and the foxy Pamela Stephenson as Jack Jones love interest.
Also quite gory at times, with some brutal murders and maggot rotting heads. Just a shame that the blood looks like red paint.
but overall I liked it a lot and was very entertaining indeed, even if the ending got a bit silly. 73 out of 100.

I don't think anything is sillier than Trash in the Bronx Warrior films
But all of them are highly entertaining

Yes. But it's not a romantic film
A film about Bundy would be unwatchable imho. A monster.

Default Fright Night (1985)

Fright Night (1985)
Whilst I personally think this is one of the best modern vampire films since Tobe Hooper's Salem's Lot. Most of my admiration must go to the performance of Roddy McDowall, who manages to steal the film right under the noses of his younger cast members and especially from Chris Sarandon who seems unable to match McDowall's campiness, Sarandon's being all method where as Roddy is just having a blast with his character, and managing to be part Cushing, part Price and all TV horror host Peter Vincent...In fact what has always intrigued me the most is the Tv horror hosts show Fright Night, especially since in the UK we have never had a history of such Tv presenter's, (of course we have had unintentionally scary hosts, Tarrant, Saville to name but two) but unlike American television of course which has had many. Which is where the remake failed big time, instead of embracing the whole tv horror host retro thing, they completely jettisoned it and turned the character into a magician, but that was the least of the remakes worries...McDowall manages to convey equal amounts of pathos and insecurity as the ageing actor who soon realises his time maybe up as modern audiences are no longer frightened by his film antics any more, and like he says "Apparently all they want are demented madmen, running around in ski masks hacking up young virgins. "..But McDowall's Peter Vincent truly comes into his own when he finally realises the truth and comes to the aid Charley Brewster, although reluctantly at first, he soon gets back his vampire hunter mojo..
