I used to like this as a kid when it was shown on T.V (1979 - 82), so i wondered how i would feel about it now.

This is the second series so i haven't watched it from the start, but it is easy to just pick up and get into as it's not very complicated.

Basically Richard o' Sullivan is Turpin and he and his mate Swift Nick are on the run, they spend their time dodging soldiers, holding up the rich in their carriages and wooing the wenches they meet.

Each episode is only 25 minutes long (there are occasional two part stories) so it sticks to a basic format which usually involves Turpin being chased on horseback, hiding out and wearing a disguise to foil soldiers, or helping someone they meet.

This usually ends up in some kind of sword fight and Turpin giving someone a pouch of money to help them out (he's a bit Robin Hood this Turpin).

Dem wondered wether the show holds up now, to me it does.

Although the episodes are brief, this was generally a good thing as i never found any of the stories dragging, although personally i think some are too brief and could have easily be stretched to 40minutes.

The acting is uniformly good throughout the cast, and for the most part it is acted straight, barring the odd cameo.
There is a camaraderie between Turpin and Nick which can at times be jokey, but the series never becomes too silly or nods at the audience, and the costumes and locations are used to great effect to set the scene.

The series treads the fine line between being able to be watched by kids and be entertaining and being well made and interesting enough to hold an adults attention span.

I've been really enjoying it, it follows a story of the week type format, and at 25 minutes is perhaps too short, but i've been watching two or three episodes most nights this week and it's a nice cosy watch and something to unwind down to before bedtime.

If like me you enjoy late 70's style British T.V then i'd say give it a shot. Recommended.

Sounds good,so checked music magpie and see they have both series and the mini series so ordered them.

Watched Series 4,5 and 6 of Seinfeld. If this was him in his prime, then I will stick to Curb etc. Barely smiled at some of it. Partly due to Jerry sadly. Ho hum.

Enjoy the show but has nothing on curb and Jerry is the least funny of the gang with most of the laughs coming from George ( who s basically Larry David) or Kramer.

The fourth season is probably the best, if that isn’t your thing you’d be best off swerving it.

I think Seinfeld is bit overrated myself, I have the box set and there are some magical episodes, but there’s also a lot of dross. Season One for example is cringeworthy, luckily there’s only five episodes.

Prompted by Inspector Abberline mentioning the audiobook, I watched all 26 episodes of Willo the Wisp on YouTube yesterday. The narration and the voices by Kenneth Williams are sublime and there are things I remember from listening to the vinyl I listened to when I was younger, from the character names (Evil Edna, Mavis Cruet, Arthur, Carwash, the Moog, Twit etc.) to short lines like "Miss Murky Duck Pond!".

I've also finished watching the Marvel show Legion, something which is occasionally as inaccessible as some episodes in the last season of Twin Peaks, and sometimes fascinating. It's always interesting and I would like to take a week later in the year to watch both seasons in a short space of time.

I completely misjudged Westworld and watched it too quickly, finishing the ninth episode on Thursday when the tenth isn't airing until tomorrow! I'll probably rewatch the ninth and watch the last two back-to-back. The second season hasn't disappointed me in the slightest and I found it to be just as good as the first.

Looking for something a bit different and a one which I bought a long time ago and haven't watched, I started the 18th season of South Park last night, something I haven't seen since it first aired and it's amazing to look back at the events they parodied, particularly the (seemingly ridiculous and far-fetched) political ambitions of a certain New York businessman and how it is so different to watch it at the time compared to several years later.

I love Seinfeld. I could never get into Curb personally. It's just not that funny.

Finished season 1-5 of star wars clone wars.

Excellent superior to the prequels and new films, well written with interesting new characters the main one being Ahsoka ( Anakins padawan) who when you first meet her you think she going too be annoying but for me and become one of my favourite characters next too Han and Chewie and more well rounded and written than Luke or Anakin and her last story is excellent which was basically a way to explain why she wasn't in revenge of the Sith ( if she had been i doubt Anakin would of falling to the darkside)
