Ah, there's beasties on the moon in that. I laughed quite a bit because of them. But then I would

Xanadu (1980, Robert Greenwald)

This trawling through the wreckage can be fun. Or it can be torture. Michael Beck represents Art . Oliva Neutron Bomb is .... a muse aaaand Wilfred Hyde White is "Zeus" .
Need any more proof that cocaine fuelled excess ran rampant in Hollywood???
Blisteringly simpering in execution, the songs are all coated in a glossy sheen designed to aggrevate and desensitize in equal measures. At least the Cannon film is funny ... this ... this is just bland.
Did like the instrumental section near the end mind .

The Actor (2018, Buan Daryani/Ali Raza Taqi)

See this.
The blackest comedy I've seen in ages. An aspiring actor lurks in the fringe of 'stardom'. Skipping over Hollywood's obssession with eating itself ... think Day Of The Locust .

HAUNTED SPOOKS (1920)

Silent comedy short.
In order to inherit a house, a girl must live in the house for a year with her husband. Trouble is, she is not married.
Her uncle decides to try and scare her away so that he will inherit the house instead.
Enter Harold. Who unlucky in love and losing the will to live marries the girl after it is arranged. They arrive at the house and encounter ghosts and moving objects and stories of the roaming dead..

Madcap, frantic knock-around with great gags and good stunts. Funny and clever jokes.
It takes a good 15 mins for Harold to arrive at the house but when he does the slapstick is non stop.

The Corpse Vanishes 1942.

A reporter investigates deaths of bride's on their wedding day a d connects a orchid to a mad scientist and his plans.

Bela Lugosi plays the mad scientist in this film with his creepy tone face and acting which made it great to watch. It is your typical horror/thriller with the secret passages and freaks lurking around.

With what appears to be a messy plot the director and Lugosi manage to pull it back from being a cheap crap movie with its good atmosphere and a good music back ground, might be a bit cheesey now but still enjoyable to watch. 7 out of 10.

Body Puzzle.

Tracy(Joanne pacula) is a widow who starts getting sent parcels of body parts from a serial killer who has a love for classical music when he's butchering his victims. And it's upto a police Inspector(Tomas arana, the chap who played the psycho hippy in The Sect) to solve the murders.

Another interesting giallo from Lamberto bava, who delivers a entertaining if a bit confusing film. Not quite upto the standard of some of his earlier films, but it's still stylishly directed and has some rather grusome kills, including a woman getting her hand chopped off in a toilet and a chap who gets brutally stabbed to death in a chocolate shop.

and there's also a cameo from Mr Radice out of cannibal Ferox who seriously camps it up as a chap who runs some stables. and also look out for
a small role from euro horror babe Erica blanc.

not a bad effort at all from this later day giallo. and well worth a solid 75 out of 100.

The Toy (Richard Donner)

Truly mindboggling. A spoilt brat demands that luckless employee Richard Pryor is his new .... plaything . At no point does anyone smack him across the head . This was greenlit. Hollywood? Morality? Whatever ....

Alright Now (Jamie Adams)

British film with an American (er.... Canadian cough) star. Nostalgia fest as Britpoppers Filthy Dukes finally give up the ghost. Jessica Hynes and Daisy Haggard are wasted in this. Noel Clarke pops up ... again slightly underused. I laughed, don't get me wrong. But any film with Sleeper and Embrace on the ST would be tough going for me .
The epitome of undemanding.

short Night of glass dolls.

Gregory Moore(Jean Sorel, the chap out of Perversion story) is a american reporter in Prague, and is found dead in a park. and is taken to the morgue. But he is in fact in some type of coma and it then goes back to tell you how it happened. which involves a story of his girlfriend Mira( the sexy barbara bach) mysteriously disappearing and a bizarrre music society with some
seriously odd going ons.

A very intriging giallo indeed from Aldo lado the chap who did the Night Train Murders. Yes it is a little slow and lacks a lot of the fun aspects of a lot of other giallos, but it keeps you entertained nevertheless and is full of twists and turns.
a bit low on the gore front though, although it does actually feature some nudity, but a lot of them are people you wish had kept their clothes on

but overall i enjoyed this film with it's haunting Ennio morricone score. just a shame that Barbara Bach's performance is cut short. 79 out of 100
