Halfway through the BF audio The Secret History and really enjoying it so far, perhaps surprisingly given the fanwankiness of the idea (the 5th Doctor somehow replacing the 1st in his timeline). Started off like a pure Hartnell historical but is now getting more sci-fi, and it's certainly helped a great deal by Peter Purves and Maureen O'Brien being so convincing sounding like their younger selves as Steven and Vicki.

It's been confirmed when Steven Moffat's final episode of 'Doctor Who' will air

"The new issue of Doctor Who Magazine has revealed that Steven Moffat will still be Doctor Who showrunner for 2017’s Christmas special.

Assuming that the festive episode is broadcast in its traditional Christmas Day slot, Moffat’s era will draw to a close on Monday 25 December 2017."

Just in time for one last Xmas turkey.

The Secret History was interesting. I thought it went a bit downhill in the end, a bit too convoluted and fan-ficcy (I would have been happy had it just stayed a more or less straight historical as the first episode basically was), but it was well-staged and never lost my interest or the ability to entertain. I just really, really enjoyed hearing a new Steven and Vicki story - especially since they were such a promising pairing that never got fully exploited on TV. They should do more.

About 11 Colin Baker stories are on special from BF to celebrate his birthday, and I've picked up half a dozen of them, three of the recent ones with Mel, The Space Race with Peri and two with Flip (who I've not heard before).
Last night I also listened to the first part of the first story in The Second Doctor Adventures Volume One, which they've been giving away for free, which I really enjoyed, so I pre-ordered the whole thing!

BF are going to bankrupt me.

The cult TV show meets the cult movie!

A spot-on parody

The first writers for season 10 have been announced:

Steven Moffat will write 4 of the 12 episodes (no surprises there!) and Mark Gatiss is also back on board. It's possible that his episode might be a sequel to 'Sleep No More' from season 9, but it's early days yet

I really hope not.

I'm not anti-Gatiss like a lot are but Sleep No More wasn't great.

Missy will also be returning. Clara too most likely at some point. Otherwise i can't fathom why she'd be doing US comic cons with Capaldi and Gomez. Her BBC contract would be over by now.

The character is a teacher

Maybe she has some connection with the 'Class' spin-off?
